Just how many slices of bacon should put in a bacon sandwich and what condiments should/shouldn't be included? :)

I asked this question a fair while back and got some stupendous answers so I'm curious to see if tastes have changed or remain the same as before.

thick cut or thin cut? smoked or unsmoked? type of bread, butter/spread or no spread? so many variables!

For me, three thick cut, smoked bacon, on doorstop toasted white bread, with real butter and ketchup!

4 smoked in a lattice type arrangement in white bread and Ketchup for the win!

Bacon Sandwich needs the following:

Thick Cut Tiger Bread
4 x Smoked Thick bacon strips
HP Sauce
Butter.

Anything else is a fake.

3 rashers of thick cut dry cure bacon on thick buttered bloomer bread and a good spread of Daddies brown sauce. Washed down with a mug of strong tea. Pure win.

Soft white bread, butter, no sauce. How many slices of bacon? Well that depends on how big the slices of bread are!

I prefer normal cut, but more of it. Mixture of crispy and medium cooked bacon (minus rind) for a better texture.

I prefer back unsmoked. Don't do butter, find it gets too greasy.

Sauce wise, red or if feeling fancy mix some hot chilli sauce or Nando's in a pinch into mayo.

Bread wise, fresh crusty loaf. Brown or white, doesn't matter. Bacon is more important. :D

Butter on both slices of bread, 4 slices of bacon regardless of cut overlapped (never crossed) evenly with a 1cm gap on 1 edge to hold the bread together to stop egg dripping out. Fried egg, runny. Tomato sauce. Grated cheese.

quite a few people on here saying 3 or 4 slices

if we assume the typical slice of bread is 4mm thick (x2 = 8mm thick) and thick cut bacon is probably 2mm. It takes 2 slices of bacon to obtain optimal bread coverage

10 slices * 2mm = 10mm in height with full coverage > 8mm bread (2 x 4mm)

Therefore anything less than 10 slices is just a plain and utter failure
