Current Best Online FPS

So I've just bought a super fast computer having not played PC games for around 10 years. Excited to play VR and normal games! Used to love online FPS's and back in those days, it was all about Battlefield 2 (I prefered the stealthy ones to the fast blasting ones like unreal tournament)...

Simple question, what's the best nowadays? Surprisingly couldn't find a decent round up of current online FPS searching google... I know Battlefield 5 is out- is it the best?

My opinion would land me at R6 Siege. It has a high learning curve but is constantly getting updates to keep things fresh and looks to be a service more than a push out the door and forget about it in a years time like EA/Dice do with BF1.

Currently bought BF1 and had a few game with it this week and found it to be incredibly frustrating and not fun at all. I'm sure that will change as I learn the maps and actually get some decent weapons unlock, although that's one gripe I have with it. Why should more experienced players have OP weapons!??
 
Not been any really good ones for years tbh. Planetside 2 is still good if you want to see some actual large scale battles that you just don't get in other games.

The most fun Battlefield was 2142 though. It had the most interesting stuff in it.
 
I have a lot of love for BF1. PUBG is full of cheaters. LIKE FULL OF CHEATERS! Day of Infamy is a great game. Even though it does tend to crash on occasions.
 
bf1 is just ok, its more like a large scale cod than a battlefield game though, nothing like the ones that came before it,best shooter on pc is insurgency imo
 
as with everyone they will give their own preference.so there is no best.

pubg is fine. people who moan its plagued with cheaters are normally just bad. bf1 best fps haha did make me chuckle.
