Currently Have a 5930k , Looking to Upgrade.

but the one pc i run does it all, there isnt a "NEED" to upgrade, more of a despire to have a little more headroom , so if the 1800 is faster than the 5930k, then there would be even less of a need to build a second.

Also, the gaming situation is improving dramatically with patches in certain games (Ashes of the Singularity, Rise of the Tomb Raider with 50% increase in performance, Dota 2 and Total War). Prey also performs better on Ryzen than Intel equivalents.

Thanks for this info, I was considering Skylake-X for a gaming upgrade but I think I'll wait to see what Threadripper offers first :)
