Currys Shop

£50 is not reasonable to reformat and re-install Windows imo, which can be done with the recovery partition on the HDD with a few key presses and clicks, damn.

You might be able to do it in a few clicks but just because it's easy doesn't mean it shouldn't cost £50.00. Put the same analogy with a car mechanic. You just take a part out and replace it but if you don't know what you doing that's where the charge comes in. Also some people just want the issue fixed no interest in how it's done.

It's pretty naive if you think otherwise.

How do you know its not a hardware fault?
Plus was he aware that software has no warranty? if not then he was miss sold.
These things should be covered, like install of os, to working order.

Got it back this afternoon. The little gets hid main partition of the harddrive. It said it only had 31GB free of 75GB. I was like what they done with rest. I had a look in manage disk management and it was greyed out. Good job I did no how to get it back. Was this just another cunning way to take it back and say all hard drive wasn't there and bam another £50 if I hadn't known how to do it.?.

So why didn't you just restore it yourself and save 50 pound?

Hi. My mum and dad bought an HP laptop from currys 8 month back. 3 days ago my mum turned it and it came up with error and wouldn't enter windows. Cant remember what the error was but it did say press F2 for diagnostic. But I said as seen as still in warranty take it to currys as if I start messing about with it they might say its not So my dad came back and said it costing £50 and this type of thing isn't in the warranty. Its not even a year old how can they do this?. There saying now windows wanted to restart from beginning and had to put it back on again. Should this be in with the warranty?. Never shopping there again.

Someone bought something from Curry's and wanted after-sales support?

One moment. . . . .

... right where were we?

Oh yeah, unless you subscribe to their monthly "tech-guys" support package, you're getting nowhere without forking out, even if it's warranty.
They rely on the fact that the people that shop there are stupid enough to fall for their BS and quite frankly those that shop there are purely for the reason that they shop there.
