I fancied some custard creams and saw a pack of branded ones for £1.99 and an even bigger value pack for 29p - personally ive always been against the value smart price stuff etc, but thought screw it im going to try these, so I bought the value pack and seriously, there is actually no difference.

Just think of the ammount of money I could have saved over the years if I just tried it earlier!

Just thought I would share this fountain of knowledge with the fellow OCUK community

Best, and only, value item I buy is middle bacon. It's so big and perfect for a toasted bacon sarnie.

Not sure if this is true... BUT - I heard that the Value packs are the good brands but just cheaper and repackaged...

Sounds a bit bizarre - but I have had items from their values selection, and couldn't tell the difference :)

I love me some Custard Creams, at 29p they are a steal!

It is true for a lot of products.

Take extra strong mints, the aldi ones are less than half the price but still come out of the same place.

Same factory, does not mean same product. Its just that few make their own products and the orders are fulfilled by massive factories. Same factory different recipe/

They'll often be watered down, or made with cheaper produce.
Like baked beans, come out of same factory. but just look at the sauce, they aren't the same.
Its very easy in these big automated factories to change the recipe.

coke is another one, that is truly disgusting in the cheap versions.

I think I'm correct in saying the Liver Disease thing relates to an article in yesterdays DM.

Must admit the cheapo/value custard creams are not bad at all and I actually prefer them over the branded ones.

The same is not true for unbranded cereals (ewwwwww)....

What about salt ? I thought salt is salt but my wife thinks not ?
