Custom Arcade / Fight Sticks

You'll wanna mod it straight away, I doubt any of the SE's will last the year!

It seems the buttons have a month lifespan before they start to die, I'm not heavy handed and I don't play rough with it either. :o

I have one of the new batch of SE's for my PS3, played a little last night and the Turbo buttons were all lit up red, unplugging and replugging it in didn't solve the problem. Noticed that could no longer do the focus attack. Am I right in thinking this is a known fault (as in the post above re PS3 Turbo problems)?

If so, I bought it from a competitor can I just ask for a refund? It was delivered last friday so not had it long.

For anybody ordering from Gremlin an update has appeared!

Sanwa Orders Update - Friday 3rd April - 6:00pm

STATUS - SANWA ORDERS UP TO AND INCLUDING MARCH 25TH
HAVE NOW BEEN COMPLETED.

SANWA ORDERS FROM MARCH 26th ONWARDS - NOW PROCESSING

JLF-TP-8YT STOCK STATUS

We have now managed to secure stock of these joysticks. We have a small quantity arriving next week and plenty more the week after the easter break. Customers who have already paid and pre-ordered will receive their orders as soon as new stock becomes available.

Might get mine next week if I'm lucky!

Yep more buttons are going on it, I went to do the Balrog turn around punch to avoid Hadoukens and NOTHING came out, this happened around 6 times. (sometimes it did work)

It wasn't me messing up either, I was holding the buttons down as I usually would and nothing happened at all, if I mistimed it the animation would have at least started and I'd have ate the Hadouken, but nope nothing happened I just stood there and took a Hadouken to the face like a ****, wasn't lag either.

What a load of ****, I'm not even bothering to play if my commands aren't gonna register when I need them to.

I'm so angry right now, I'm going to bed! I've never been so infuriated when playing Street Fighter, a mix of losing against **** players due to MadCatz and realising that I can't even play the game until my Sanwa arrives has made me extremely cross.

Another thing is that I'm starting to think my joystick is playing up, I went to do Sagats uppercut and roughly 50% of the time he did nothing except a fierce punch, I wasn't doing it wrong either I popped into training mode and was met with the same results.

I'm slowly making progress on my case when I find spare time but I don't really have a clue when it comes to the electrical part. What gauge wire do I need and should it be solid core or stranded? Also the terminal blockscome with different amp ratings; do i just the the smallest?

what are delivery prices from arcadeshop like?

Yep, the smallest terminal blocks, which are 3 amp will do just fine. Doesn't really matter.

As for the wire, again it really doesn't matter, use whatever you've got. I used the wires from a CAT5 lead, simply because I find them easy to work with when it comes to fiddly soldering.

Make your own, it's great fun. It took me about a week to learn everything I needed to know with Kreeeees help throughout the process and I'm really happy with the result.

I am terrible with my hands fat fingers and all. also i dont have any of the tools except a drill no dremel or sanding thing. I dont mind spending the money on a TE stick, and then modding it but im scared ill fubar it. Also with that cost i can hopefully get a nice wooden case that looks the nutts and dual pcb.

I may be selling the components of mine soon but doubt anyone wants the whole box :p

I might want the whole box if the artwork isnt fixed do you have any pics? /edit i just found it and remember the Tupper ware edition ^_^ hmm i'll think about it cuz then all id need is an empty case and ur tupperware thing is already all connected.. what PCB's are in the TW edition?

Wired Madcatz 360 arcade stick, so all you need is a case and Cthulhu board for a no solder build. I've not offered to sell it, I'll use the MM for that as a sale outside the MM is not allowed but I'm considering selling it as I've finished uni now and only need one stick as there is zero local competition :(

Edit: It's this PCB: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13769655&postcount=82

You could do it yourself really easily though, and cheaply too.

aye i guess so but that requires me to buy a 360 SE stick then bits etc... Prob cost £100? or so

i was kinda hoping to spend a lil more than that and ask someone to make me super duper wooden case and wire it up for me lol :D just to have something different.
