Hi there,

I am going to be doing myself a custom watercooling loop. I have done 4 previously but not for around 5/6 years. I was just wondering, with the following item:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/mayhems-x1-uv-green-premixed-watercooling-fluid-1l-wc-000-mh.html

Is this all I need to go inside the loop? Or will I need some other stuff as well? If theres anything else needed or any other alternatives recommended then I am fully open to suggestions :)

Thanks very much in advance

It comes premixed complete with all you need in the loop, only thing is depending on the size of the loop you may need more than 1ltr?

This is the kit I bought a a few weeks ago:

** Competitor Link/Product Removed **

Will the 1ltr be enough then I presume? And also would it be worth getting UV lighting with it? Obviously the tubes are green, so would it still work out for me? And if so, what UV lighting should i get?

I do apologise for the external link :/ I can remove it if needed <3

Thanks again

A litre would be enough, for lighting rigid led strips are usually the best choice.

Although i would be more concerned with that kit honestly,no name pump and mixed metals across the block(copper) and rad(aluminum),so galvanic corrosion is a certainty.

I wouldnt put that anywhere near a pc. That has a cheap generic Chinese pump, basic block whose design dates back to the begining of pc watercooling and even worse the radiator is aluminium which is going to react with the block and leave you with severe problems down the line when they corrode. Basically it's a very rubbish kit that will give you serious problems and will be outperformed by a similar cost AIO and high end air cooling. I would send that back for a refund if you are still able to. It is not fit for purpose.

I think you need to go and do some reading up on custom watercooling and a read of Brizzles very good guide on Galvanic Corrosion. If you want to do custom water cooling then to do it properly you can't do it cheaply without cutting corners that could lead to serious consequences down the line. That includes leaks, corrosion and even the death of components due to leaks. You could buy second hand components but I would want to see close up pictures of blocks etc and the history of the pump and radiator before buying. If you want to spend as little as possible on water cooling then buy a good AIO.
