CV - BSc letters or not?

Normally yes but on a CV it's important.

No its not, on a CV you list your academic achievements. No point in having Dr Joe Blog PHd MSc BSc (Hons) after their name at everypoint.

Its not worth it, like I said most will just think you are an ass monger.

KaHn

nah - put it in the education but not after your name.

i, on the other hand have a PhD and get to put Dr IN FRONT of my name - ha ha - which i do on a regular basis.

thats Dr Ass monger to you!

If you have to emphasise that you're qualified in something then you probably don't have much confidence in your ability to actually do it. At least that's what someone who interviews people for Google said. :)

I wouldn't put letters after your name under any circumstances. In your CV you will be detailing your education anyway, so it will be superfluous and only make you look pretentious.

One person who DOES put BSc after their name is Arnold Rimmer (from Red Dwarf) but he is only a fictional character and in his case Bsc stands for Bronze Swimming Certificate, He aslo has an Ssc ....

LMAO! :p:D

In conclusion I wouldn't do it unless you want to be called a Rimmer from now on....;)

Sorry hadn't read all the other posts! OK, You beat me to it, but at least I've explained it to those not familiar to red dwarf....

I would feel like a right ***** if I addressed myself like that. And I know people who do do that and it's quite well known locally that they are pretentious gits too. I have neighbours who are like that. One example that really cracked me up was a letter posted to my parents: "Dr & Mrs xxx would like to invite you to a coffee morning in respect of yyy..."
On the other hand, a fair few of my customers, and some neighbours, have 'Dr' qualifications but make very little of it - the more down to earth type.

i'm down to earth as well, but hey, if you can't be a ***** on an anonymous web forum then what is the world coming to! ;)

The coffee morning is bad, but the Dr isn't. If you're a doctor you're supposed to use Dr. I don't see the point in using Mr :/

thats also true - generally i don't use a title at all, but if there is a situation where you would normally use Mr then i have to put down Dr, because i'm not a Mr and never will be again.
