*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

I like the ingame news format for the snippets of information about forthcoming patches (and this one is slightly more helpful than the previous one), but it doesn't say much. Unspecified possible improvements to the minimap. One of the earliest mods improved the minimap and I'd bet the modder did a better job than CDPR will do. A change in which NPC you visit to do a respec. A bugfix in a completely pointless part of a quest, a part that has no effect on anything.

The last time, there were dozens of things in the patch that weren't mentioned in the pre-patch snippet.

It looks like a novel and interesting format for patch notes, but it isn't.

Is this game fixed yet? I may end up buying it soon with the arrival of a new GPU. I read that the latest patch left a lot to be desired...

Depends what you mean by fixed:

Is it the game CDPR claimed it was? No. Absolutely not. It never will be.

Is it finished? No. Stuff was taken out and the rest was stitched together to make something functional for release. There isn't even an attempt at faking AI for background people or vehicles. They haven't even implemented all of the perks - some of them literally do nothing. And I do mean 'literally', not 'metaphorically but I don't know what that words means so I'll use a completely different word with the opposite meaning instead'.

Does it make efficient use of hardware? No.

Does it run adequately on PS4 and Xbox One? No.

Have most of the bugs it had when released been fixed? Yes.

So the game that it actually is has been fixed, at least mostly. All of the criticisms of the game on release still apply apart from the bugginess. And it's still a decent game if you can take it as is and not as it was claimed to be.

@Angilion In a sense that has helped me a lot with this game, altho I have yet played it very little. I did not follow its development at all, only vaguely being aware by reading headlines of the controversy surrounding its launch. So when I have tested it, rather than play it over an extended period, I am kinda impressed. IIRC I paid around £17 or so, and I see that Nexus have mods for it.
@y2ck01 posted a list of mods he used and perhaps I'll give them a go, manually installing them it seems, and all should fall inline with my minimal expectations.

Must be somewhat different for those who had followed the game and seen what it was like on launch, perhaps more so for the console owners.

I do like how this game, RDR2 too, make use of the multi cores of my 9900k, rather than like some which still prefer to use single core at times. Then again even with that the FPS doesn't seem great on this one.

yeah I didn't really follow all the hype for the game but also bought it on day one and really enjoyed it for a couple of play throughs. It's not a perfect game, but some issues can be fixed with mods and then you're left with a really nice looking game in a cyberpunk setting with good characters and a pretty good story.

They will be on twitch stream today at about 5pm to talk about future roadmaps, hopefully more info about upcoming DLC

This is now something like £14.99 on GOG? thinking back it's a real shame this game flopped the way it did. Whilst I enjoy it, I ended up putting it down after almost 10 hours in the hopes of performance fixes and various other improvements, they never came and I'm not sure they will and until that point I am really struggling to pick it back up. In addition to that it has been so long since I played it properly I have forgot most of the storyline I was up to.

Many people felt similar when NMS first launched, that game was epically disastrous following the hype and expectations. However Hello Game have stuck with it and there will be soon a five years update called "Frontiers" for free launching. After 17 major updates that game just keeps on giving.
Not sure if this one will get anything like that level of support or commitment, only time will tell.

It seems unlikely. Hello Games is a very small team, and the cost for the ongoing updates to No Man's Sky is tiny compared to what it would cost to continue developing the gargantuan promises of CP2077. CP2077 doesn't even have many of the base systems that were supposed to be in the game.

Hello Games is also very much the exception to the rule. I don't think I've ever seen a game with the high profile and hype of NMS getting so panned at launch, and then come back with years of updates that don't just fix issues, but introduce new gameplay loops and game technology. Hello Games didn't just bring the game up to what was originally promised, they continued to add new things. In nearly all other cases where a publisher releases an unfinished game, they take the money and abandon it (ie not throwing more money after bad), or if you're lucky, they do a patch or two to fix the most glaring bugs before abandoning the unfinished game to the market.

If you're holding up Hello Games as an example of what could happen, you're very much pointing to the most unlikely turnaround we've seen in in games development/release, and saying "that could happen too". It's very unlikely CDPR is going to pour millions into years of work to finally deliver on a failed game. They made their money, they are going to take it and run.

WOW just read the patch notes for what they're hoping to put into patch 1.3
A sat nav fix.
Coaches for your attribute points.
Fixing a whorehouse.

In essence, still no actual new content.
I am a bit surprised that even at their glacier space they're still bug fixing and have provided no new content.
Nothing to bring me back to do another play through as yet.

Yup Hello Games have been quite exceptional is their comeback and commitment to NMS. At the time of release, only bought the game just as Atlas Rises was about to launch, I imagined that Sean and his small team might have just cut and ran, as they seemed to go dark for a while post release.
Paradox, altho some complain of their paid DLC releases, are also pretty good with longevity support and were suited well to tie in with CO for Skylines as their publishers.
There maybe some more improvements made to CP but, like I mentioned, I had zero history of expectations and bought it pretty cheap.
Still this game is going to continue to disappoint it seems.
The lofty bar set by Hello Games will probably be safe for some time to come.

yeah looks pretty good, a lot of nice fixes. If you combine all the patch notes since release it's a serious amount of work they have done to get it up to scratch. They are also working on the next expansion as well, it's not the full team just on patching and smaller DLC.

Still think I'll wait for more content before doing another play through.

That list is incredible. Shows just how broken the game actually was at launch (and probably remains to be). People should probably consider 1.3 as the 'base' version of the game.

I don't think they're at the base version yet. Even after patch 1.3, I think it's still in beta.

EDIT: They finally fixed the clothing plans bug!

Fixed an issue where crafting specs from clothing stores were available only during the first visit to a vendor.

I notice that the patch notes refer to bugfixes as "free DLCs". I hope that's not really what they mean by "DLC".

1.3 has some bits of free DLC along with improvements and bug fixes. The free clothes/car etc are the DLC part. Personally wouldn't call that DLC but hey ho, better than nothing.
