*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Trying to help a friend who's just started the game.
The game is VERY blurry for him, in game is a lot worse then the menu.

He's tried restoring defaults, but nothings changed.
The graphics card is a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti .

What settings could be causing this problem?

That's a 1080p screenshot but the game resolution being shown is non-standard which is why it's blurry. In the video tab what resolution is being used.

Edit*
I can't get over how detailed the textures are, people went bonkers over the PTGI in the cafe in Alan Wake 2, but IMO Cyberpunk's GI and overall colour toning is far better than AW2:

Been mucking about doing stoppies and wheelies on the bikes too, rather good fun :D

CDPR also mentioned they updated NPC eyes to be more realistic, which I can confirm is now a thing, combined with the fix for skin tones and textures being weird when using path tracing:

Overall I think it's a really solid update and ripe for a new playthrough for anyone who hasn't been back in for a while. I'm enjoying my run

Set resolution to the native resolution of the display.

CB can look good in some areas (especially at night is incredible!), but I'm not a fan of the color grading - more so during daytime. Looks too much like a cartoon, while AW2 has a cinematic/movie quality to it. A matter of personal taste I guess. Not to mention that still to this day you can have NPCs and miscellaneous objects floating just a bit above the ground :))

Still, a solid game all around. UE5 games with PT will sure come pretty close to offline CGI.

Caved in an rebought on Steam as the Ultimate is on sale now.

I started a new playthrough as Nomad, need a refresh to know what's what as my 15h of gameplay on the GoG version were fairly forgettable.

The game looks very good but I opted for Psycho RT with FG at ultrawide res, I know some will say it's unplayable without Path Tracing now but I don't want to hover around 70fps and feel the latency:p

I had all sorts of problems last night in getting my settings to save after the patch. It seems that if any keybinds are not mapped the graphics settings won't save

Chromatic aberration and film grain, if in motion then motion blur.

Make sure DLSS is not set to Auto as it could applying Ultra Performance mode which is very blurry.

I'm being thick here (no surprise :D) but who are the two red heads? Haven't seen either in the game before?

Is this someone you've made? Or a new character with the latest update - as I haven't played it since smashing out Phantom Liberty on release...

Lol those are OG characters, part of Panam's crew out in the sticks and you'll see them in the daytime when you're doing the first mission with Panam and need to meet her there.

If anyone is striggling with FPS in this game then tom's hardware has a solution, you only need to have both an Nvidia and AMD GPU

4080? No real optimisation needed. Max out everything, enable frame gen, ray reconstruction, path tracing, enable DLSS Quality. That's all if up to 1440P. You may need to use DLSS Balanced depending on your fps target, otherwise it's all good. for an above 60fps experience.

Cheers.

Do the above settings add noticeable input latency?

Thinking this will be my Xmas break game.

I don't normally buy DLC (thesedays) without completing the main campain first.

I can't tell from the Steam reviews wether I need the DLC or not. In the respect that a lot of the reviews state that even when playing for the first time, it's best with DLC (doesn't make much sense!)?

I'm on my second playthrough from the core game only a year or so ago I think, and there's more than enough content and story in the DLC to get that as well, play the main story then it branches into the dlc and then back to main or mix and do both. I wasn't impressed with it at first but the more I played the dlc the more I liked it.

Since my first playthough of the main game it does seem like patches and updates have created a very different and better game.
