Sorry, feel like a cheesefest thread. Wonderful day in Sunny Edinburgh, walked a good 9km following the canals that going right across the City. Completely ruined by ******* on bikes. Every 2 seconds some stupid bell going off. Felt like being trapped in a review from that "worth a buy" guy.

Every 2 seconds for 9 miles - sounds like you gate crashed a canal path cycle race

Throughout Birmingham and parts of the west Midlands canal paths are part of the national cycle network. Just have to make room for each other. Even when walking you shouldn't be blocking the whole path as there may be people trying to walk past.

EDIT: Saw a photo. Looks narrow. Just have to have some awareness on both sides, cyclists and walkers.

TOWPATH; is it worth a buy? Let's read the words... the words of the pedestrians.

In the mostly bleak dystopian wasteland north of Hadrian's wall, long forgotten natural beauties lay hidden, waiting to be discovered. Immerse yourself in days of single player campaign, or share the incredibly detailed environments made possible with the cutting edge Life engine with friends in co-op mode. Test yourself by competing in brutal PVP mode, and climb through the ranks while unlocking cosmetics *DING* and new vehicles.

Just like it's the responsibility of motorists to ensure safe passing of cyclists on the road, it should be the responsibility of cyclists to pass pedestrians on shared paths safely including NOT passing if it's not safe.

Hierarchy of road users should extend to shared paths.

Cyclists don't have to pull over to allow cars to pass on the road therefore pedestrians shouldn't have to "pull over" to allow cyclists to pass

GD - have at it :p

May sound negative here, and nothing against cycling, good for you etc....and not towpath related. Currently on a few days away near York (Pocklington area), lots of cyclists in massive groups on NSL roads holding back multiple cars, not letting it bother me, but it's like the bloody peloton in the Tour De France on many occasions.
