Cyclists on pavements, do police really care?

i very rarely go on the pavement and if i do its to get past a vehicle which hasnt left enough room to get past.

i must admit tho ive had to stop quicky a few times where pedestrians assume the road is clear because they cannot hear a engine and walk out in front of me.

sorry I forgot the police only interested in quick results and not actual policing

give me a few hours, access to cctv and a police social media account and I'd get dozens of dodgy cyclists arrested easily.
They put CCTV photos in the local news paper for other crap crimes

it wouldn't take much effort to dissuade renegade cyclists from taking risks and breaking the law if they knew the police would do something about it

In newcastle the police seem to care more about making it look like they are doing something.

someone gets raped in a park oh well do a few patrols yea great.
I've been in the park at 1-3am seen the police patrol go around the outer edge paths and not even notice I'm in the park! they are useless doing as little as they can be bothered.

someone gets stabbed in newcastle city centre and now we have knife scanners being carried by some police.

yea awesome just more visual policing and not any results

Is the above based on actual experience or just what the DM spouts ?

If it's actual experience then I've been wearing blinkers for 15 years. Also, it's fair to say that Newcastle's night time economy will get far more attention than methods of cycling that some people don't like.

There has been an exodus of white Londoners in recent years, many of whom have decided to call Lincolnshire their home as they make their escape from stab central. With this, the number of cyclists here (and my personal experiences with them) has increased dramatically.

Like all good drivers, I tolerate cyclists and respect their right to be on the road, unfortunately this respect is often not reciprocated. I have personally seen a cyclist hit someone's wing mirror because they didn't leave enough room for them to slip through the standing traffic. The driver is entitled to be as close to the kerb as he wants, just as the cyclist is entitled to be in the middle of the lane.

That case of vandalism was the worst case I've personally seen, the rest involve the typical "cycle nazis" who use everything in their power to inconvenience other road users for their sake of "entitlement". Unfortunately, the few stasi out there give the rest a bad name.
