So go on then what it is about the former communist nation that makes you want to have people think you live there :p

You should go for a visit. It's very nice indeed. The countryside is ideal for mountain biking in the summer and ski-ing in the winter. The beer is excellent, the people are extremely friendly, especially the gorgeous women. And I rather like the cars too.

In actual fact it's scarily like Bavaria ;)

90 quid on the spot and confiscated plate. Plus vehicle inpounded until you provide new registration.

Try:

1.£30 fine change it.
2.£30 fine change it report to DVLA.
3.Mark taken back by DVLA.
I thought the £30 fine was for not displaying a mark. Displaying one incorrectly has a maximum fine of £1000.

Am I the only one who reads it as R11 ODeR

Having a plate like that is classed as not having a plate a all, so what ever that fine is you can get as a maximum. - If police did care.

No, it isn't. It's displaying a plate incorrectly.

One major give away it's not a Czech car, it's right hand drive.

They look ok though, completely pointless but better than most i've seen.

commit enough plate offence and you can be forced onto a Q Plate. see what that does for your resale....

 I thought Q plates were for imports, kit cars and that sort of thing.

Now I know why some insurance companies won't insure Q plates. :)

Looking good btw.

That DVLA email is very interesting.

If I read it rightly, it means I could legally fit brand new "French" style plates (like the VW boys do with German plates) and as long as they are the equivalent of British Standard rating and of comparable standard (ie they are OEM type used in France today) they would be legal?

No, as all plates made up now must use the standard UK font - reffered to in law as 'Mandatory Typeface'. I'd paste you the right bit but the muppets have started using PDF's on their site..
