D3D12 articles - so much misunderstandings and miscommunications

LOL! I thought everyone knew that story.

Back to BF4.

I know the fable but I can't see any relevance to anything I say or have posted at all, hence why I asked you what you mean? Please explain.

Good article but shame it doesn't have anything to back it up. I will use my salt on this one :p

Well im not surprised you cant see the relevance and im not going to waste my time explaining it to you because you are not worth any more of my time, BF4 is more important atm and now that the Platoon issue is sorted im going to play.

So you was just trying to insult me then without actually knowing what the insult meant. Well done and go and enjoy BF4 ;)

So assuming this guy knows what he is talking about, he seems to be saying that programming for DX12 is a whole new ball game. Regardless of which currant cards can or cannot do this or that feature, as that is a completely irrelevant argument to have as by the time this is released (later this year ?) and then developers get to work on it, the first games will be out in what 2 years, maybe more. So those with 290/380/470's ;) will be able to say yay my card can use all these features at 10fps, haha you suck NVidia. :D:p:D

Anyway more seriously, it would seem that the developers might have to put more work in to get all these new features to work. It might make the speciality features like TressFX and Gameworks all the more appealing to developers as hopefully it will cut down the time they need to get to grips with the new way things will be done. could mean new games arrive a little sooner.

It all sounds exciting, all we need now is some actually good games.:)

I believe that nVidia have a driver with DX12 already in it. It comes via a Microsoft update.

It is confirmed to have it, as well as WDDM 2.0

Just checked battlelog and no servers have a queue that long.

The server i play on most of the time hit the 20 queue limit a lot, it only has 2 maps, the queue is now 4.
What you are trying to find me so you can stick a knife in me :)

To be fair, I don't think anyone should get worked up about whether or not their card fully supports DX12.
Chances are we won't see any PC exclusive games based around it for a while. Instead we will probably see more of the same, poor console ports.

So by the time DX12 is mainstream in games we will probably have moved on from 28 nm.

So with OS support and, now, released graphics drivers, all that we are waiting on is software and an SDK (plus any NDAs that may still be in effect).

From that same article.
So even if the GPU makers are ready the developers still have to wait for the software/SDK before they can even start game development with it.

I would bet money that certain game devs already have it. It is what is being used in the Xbone, so I should certainly hope some devs already have it.

^^ By the time proper DX12 games come out that exploit those features the 290 and 780 will both be history.

Spot on. I love it how people are always trying to justify their purchases but when DX12 is mainstream and optimized most enthusiasts will be on the next generation of cards.

Yes certain people will have it, otherwise it couldn't be developed. But the point is it hasn't been released yet.

Not sure who this guy is but he obviously missed the information out on TIER 4, i do not think he has the dx12 sdk or else he would know about TIER 4.

Probably at least another two generations ahead of what were on now. Look how long before DX11 became common.

Its good info Final8y thanks, ignore Gregster. He can't hide his motives.

That's rich coming from you.

No doubt if this article was bigging up nvidia for DX12 you wouldn't have posted about it being good info.

As I've told you time and time before, the hypocrisy is strong in you.
