Dad after a new 42" HDTV

As far as I remember the suggested viewing distance is roughly 3 1/2 times the size of the panel.

Also check out the Pioneer range of plasmas.

I have the 436 FDE model and it is bar far one of the best panels you can buy, you can pick them up for around £1800 if you shop around.

It doesn't come with speakers or a digital tuner but that wasn't important for me as i have Sky HFD and a surround sound system.

The 436 XDE model comes with the speakers and the digital tuner.

Also worth noting is the fact that if you are wall mounting your display the Pioneer range comes with an external media box so if you are running cables in the walls you only have to sink the power cable and the media cable in the wall and not the scart and component cables etc etc....

£1800 is a bit out of range tbh they wont go that high dad *** but mum wont :p

Id proberly just tell them to get the hitatchi thing as posted above they seem great tv's and im gonna get my self the 32" one
