Has anybody else noticed a huge number of these around? There must be about 3 in my room every night and even more outside my room. But the thing is im scared of spiders but not these  It must be the fact that spiders go underneith my bed and on the floor whilst DDL's just fly around and stay well away.

OMG YES, we have had like two flying around our house, and there is one on the window in living room and in dinning room!!

No i dont even know what that it....Oh wait **off to google** Ok now i do and all i have to say is KILL IT WITH FIRE THEN APPLY MUSTARD IF KICKING IT IN THE OVARIES DONT WORK..... :D

Run away!!!

Not in my house (thankfully). But somebody I know, has been getting a lot in her house.

It's like she opens her door, and two million daddy long long head straight for her house!

Apparently there has been a mini plague of crane flies recently.

BUT

Far more importantly, why on earth would you be scared of them anyway?

Im not, just scared of spiders :p

Seriously guys, tonight, go out and look at the grass in your garden. You will need a light (car headlights for example) and it will be covered in daddy long legs. Its breeding season apparently.

I presume you know thats a myth.

There does seem to be loads of them about though

A couple of years ago i made the mistake of going to bed leaving the living room light on with the window open.In the morning one wall was absolutely covered in the things, literally 1000s of them, had to hoover them off the wall ,there was more than a dyson tank full of them

Leatherjackets (their larvae) are a right pita tho for farmers:if you get an infestation, they chew through the root systems of growing crops
