Daily Express' weather reporting

They make up weather reports like 80mph winds, etc. and people have debunked their claims several times, yet they're still at it. Why?

All weather reports are made up, based on historical record and patterns elsewhere in the world.

That's why they're all vague, especially if you get past 3 days or so.

They've been covering their front page in extreme made up weather predictions for years now, I think most people realise they are all a load of crap.

These aren't even made up off historical patterns/records, predictive models, etc. they are basically made up completely pulled out of thin air - infact for awhile I could predict what their next weather "forecast" would be based on the old google weather overlay (which I think was what they used to make up their forecasts) - slightest sign of a cold plume coming off the arctic = headlines about how we were all about to die in a next ice age, etc.

EDIT: Both Jonathan Powell and James Madden have been exposed multiple times as being qualified to do little more than general research and still employed to provide weather forecasts by those newspapers so....

The Express ones in question don't take any notice of patterns of historical forecasts, other than maybe that it snows in winter sometimes. They use a fake weather company to back up extreme stories about months of cold weather and feet of snow, followed by months of boiling weather and droughts when spring comes round.
