I'm trying to learn to do it on my bmx but i either fly over backwards or it just won't come up
OT saw a guy doing a wheelie out of a service station a couple of weeks back, was impressive but stupid.

BMXs are difficult due to small wheels and wheelbase.

as above; "time and place", I love popping wheelies... It's all part of the fun of a bike... as long as the only person you can injure is you and the only thing you can damage is yourself / your bike..
Ride a bandit 600 with standard sprockets so it's not really capable of easy power wheelies and will only come up in first but i can power it up or clutch it up in first and ride out to the end of second gear - probably about 55mph, tops. just doesn't have the torque with the standard gearing to do any more than that due to the 240Kg weight of the bike plus the 100Kg of me..
I caught the bug when i had my brothers NSR125, power wheelies off the line.. i'm more much civilized and controlled about it now though
