If it wasn't for the fact that I'm addicted to BC2 right now, I'd be all over this like a bad rash. No MMO since has lived up to DAOC, I played Jarakin - Elf Eldritch on Prydwen in Eclipse (Torero vid anyone?). Quit years and years ago, but played on a freeshard called Eden for a short while last year before WAR came out in preparation for Origins (not that it ever happened...), which was awesome fun for a while, was great to get back into the 8v8 scene.

Definitely a case of rose-tinted glasses, there were bad times like any other MMO, but the good times were friggin' awesome.

All the expansions were made free, latest being minotaur

If you have existing characters you can now buy most, if not all the equipment with bounty points now too ><

Pretty much, you get all the expansions for free anyway.

sod it, i just reactivated my US account, having a gander at whats changed. I'd love to transfer my Euro characters but i havent logged into that account since the SWG beta and cant remeber my details

are the classic servers still up or is everyone on the new cluster ?

Can you still turn xp and rp off ? I have a lvl 14 hunter with over 1000 kills in the 10-14 bg. Used to love roaming around killing wizzies.

How many players are on the Ywain server? would love to try this again but the lack of players put me off last time

thats what let it down the last time i played 2007/2008 lack of players, but with the influx of euro players and people resubbing , it should be brill.

Last night, Ywain had just over 3,500 on it when I logged out at 9pm. Thats still without the other EU players moving over. The PvE aspects of Ywain are still effectively split amongst all the servers on the cluster (although you can hop around from one server to another at any time by talking to an npc), so the pve side of things is sparse at times. However all of the servers in the Ywain cluster are merged in RvR so the RvR side of things gets pretty hectic at times.

Yup.

I would also recommend getting a hold of a nice UI. Something like BOBs UI. Makes the UI a lot better with a multitude of options and some sexy looking icons

You've got time as the login server seems to be having a bit of an issue at the moment, either that or its me.

Server up again now, so I can give you a shot of BOBs UI. Its got stacks and stacks of options though , this is just the basic layout I use. Definitely nicer than the standard UI which is still quite crummy.
