Dark Age of Camelot - Uthgard 2.0

I have caved-in too against better judgement and have set up ready to go, no idea what class to play without a buff-bot though, didn't really like the Paladin and I'm more of a soloer than anything so as there's no Heretic :( it looks like it'll have to be a Friar, I remember duo-ing a lot with a Reaver with one and there wasn't much we couldn't do in PvE between us and the Friar was a lot of fun in the low level BGs but that was twinked out of course so might be a different story doing it the hard way.
 
Might give Reaver a go, do we have an ocuk guild? And what faction is the majority playing? Alb I guess? Also if it's SI are the end game raids in? As I imagine their gear is going to be the best to template around?
 
I have a Cleric on Alb, lvl 2 right now

For a 15 year old game, this has its fair share of bugs in its current release, also surprised to see my old name already taken

Well it's an unofficial free shard, aiming to roll back time to a patch status from circa 2003, so it's to be expected there'll be bugs and issues.

The official current version of DAOC obviously doesn't have the same issues.

It's been down/reset a few times due to bugs, there's currently quite a delay on casting spells and quests not working so I guess they're just trying to hot fix things, it's to be expected I guess. :)

I also can't believe how much more patient you had to be playing an MMO from back then compared to today's gimme-gimme-pew-pew-power-level and holdy-handy me NAOW!! stuff :p

Not sure I'm liking the no Map thing they have at all, I used to get lost enough with a Map... Seems a very strange idea to not have a map and I can't for the life of me think of a good reason for not having one.
 
The lack of a map really bites. Don't need no fancy satnav for dummies like most modern MMOs have. But a map, any map, would be good :)

lmao was just thinking that. just had a group of 3 acolytes, rogue & elementalist, all leveld from 1-4, took about 50 minutes was a great laugh!
 
They need to up the xp from 1-5 a little bit, it is beyond painful :). I am on at odd times so if i cannot solo effectively then its not gonna be worth it :(
 
Freeshard is completely pointless. Why would you want to return to a point when the game was difficult? Levelling takes forever on freeshard and there's no ToA. No thanks.

If you played DAOC then just wait for Camelot Unchained which is a new MMO based on similar lore made by DAOC's original designer.

Jesus. I could level a toon 1-10 in one pull in proper DAOC. There's YT videos that show levelling from 1-40 in an hour in proper DAOC and you're pleased about 4 levels?!
