Dark days, AMD share price at lowest ever.

Awesome news :)

I think the 390 series is selling better than expected, judging by uptake and forum trends.

I don't think the recent increase in share price is related to the 390 series (which is a failed release, as confirmed by most retailers). The shares were simply undervalued and now the price is going through a correction.

I don't think the 390 is a failed release

I generally think it has now started to move due to people actually showing why it is better than a 970 & changing what AMD had done in the last couple of years

People just need convincing after the underwhelming last few releases

Don't want to brag or anything but it's probs because AMD announced that I joined the team.

No biggie.

Not a failed release - but IMO execution could have been done better - having the 390(X) and then the Fury and Fury X is just a bit awkward and overshadows the 390 cards.

Again strictly IMO but releasing the 390 and 390X as one card under the Fury LE branding and a Fury card (much less stigma then about the whole 4GB "issue" and more time to work on some of the teething issues with the X) then riding the hype train for the Fury X, dual Fury and Nano in time for the seasonal sales would have been better execution. (None the least AMD could do with a nice lump of seasonal sales to make things look a bit rosier going into the next quarter).

I was seriously considering ploughing a few grand on AMD shares and researched into it but glad I didn't. I was about to jump just before the FX launched but lack of knowledge on buying and selling stopped me. Anyone else bought shares?

It'll go and up and down all the time it's the stock market, share price is more a reflection of perceived confidence in a company than its actual health. Given that AMD got sued for misleading investors over the 'success' of their APU's I wouldn't be surprised to see them doing the same over Fury and the rebadges. We've already had the "Fury is selling so well we can't keep up" release.

They were probably holding back stock like Intel seem to be doing with Skylake. Make it seems like they are super popular to bolster prices and give an illusion of success to their investors.
