Darkfall online

I really want to try Darkfall but I refuse to pay 50 euros to test the game out, which is a shame I really want to play :(

It definitely is way overpriced but thats what the euro has done to the pound, I'm toying with the idea of changing to Mortal Online but I'm
not falling for it again, MO could turn out to be awful or good.

Fallen for too many MMO traps :D, for what it's worth tho, I've played Darkfall a lot longer than I have War/AoC and I'm still enjoying it.

Mmm - I don't suppose anyone has quiet and would mind letting me test out the game? Just after spending £2200 on a new PC and games has left me very skint, I really don't want to waste any money :( e-mail is in trust if you do or reply here.

Just desperate for a game to play :(

Try Quake Live or Battlefield Heroes!

You must have to play the game to find that amusing. I was expecting a fight or something

Aye, some kid on Yssam who used to carry around 10 mounts around with him before the weight buff on mounts. Was quite funny when nearly every guild on the server declared war on them for their half ***** review.

If you want to see some good combat here is a vid.

No.
Lots of people are playing an extremely easy MMORPG - and unfortunately this is how "society" is these days.
WOW requires no real effort, you can "max" your character in a matter of a few months.
All the "best" characters are "cookie cut" - no variation.
The game is simply a race to the highest level possible as quickly as possible.
I feel ashamed that WOW should be even classed as an MMORPG.

So very true. Its a shame that all the "wow generation" never experienced UO or similar back in the day as they would actually understand what an MMO actually used to mean.

Moral of this thread: You've overhyped the game and expected too much.

i think this is the truth. same thing happens with pretty much every game, whether it's down to the associated advertising or "leaked" info or unrealistic expectations or all of the above. just watch what happens when that star wars one comes out, the whole internet will go into meltdown because the jedi's coat is off-white rather than brilliant white.

Darkfall Devs simply didnt have the money nor resources to complete the game.. also sadly the other problem is everyone has been brainwashed into thinking only Blizzard can make a decent MMo... *cough*

That's the problem though, they can't - they are just better at marketing their game then their competitors.

WOW is absolute crap. Dark Age of Camelot is better than WOW in every single way, yet is almost dead because of lack of advertising.

Darkfall has a dev team of 21 people, Eve started in exactly the same way (afaik not sure on the dev base) but more or less were an indie developer and now they've got a complex mmo which is rated as one of the best.

Darkfall is very good and has so much potential, just look at the latest expansion, couldn't beleive they'd put so much into that. all Darkfall needs is time and it will attract more customers the more they update it.

I personally Love playing darkfall, but I now play MMO's for the community, and I'm currently playing with one of the best guilds I've ever been in which makes the game 10x more enjoyable.

I probably would've still been playing AoC if the community I started in stayed together but everyone quit so I eventually rolled out to try something else.

todays MMO's are more community based, if you find a decent guild/community to join then thats 80% of the enjoyment.
