Darksiders - Finally available on Steam in the UK - £5

Wonderful game. Well worth £14 if that is what it costs now. Indeed, I played full price for it on 360 at launch and it was worth every penny. Game of 2010.

Just completed this and WOW.

Took me approx 15 hours, collecting all chests and collectables that I could.

Easily the best £5 I have ever spent.

Finished on a right cliff hanger !

the graphics are turd but its a very enjoyable game cant wait for number 2 if it ever get a pc release. I found the game abit like dantes inferno which were good too.

I suppose they are turd because their not grey and brown enough.

I hate the jumpy platform bits, but at least you dont have to restart the level if you fall off, and the camera doesnt always work that well. But it is a good game, even the cutscenes are worth watching.

Just finished it Going to go back for all of the collectibles at some point, but have some other games I want to get going before I do.

And yes, what a cliffhanger to finish on! Good thing Darksiders 2 has already been announced, and some info to suggest you'll play as a different horsemen.

I think its a bit dull. I've only rented it, but the combat is just lacking for me. Nothing compared to DMC/GOW or even Dante's Inferno.

For me this is the closest thing to God Of War I have played on the PC - I really enjoyed it. The graphics may not be as good as DMC4 but I personally enjoyed it more and can't wait for the sequel.

Luckily i picked the controls up okish when i got back to playing this yesterday as i had a break from it from when i bought it during steam sale at xmas. Tho i still do not like the icon driven inventory as i hate that cos of stupid console port grr and plus i duno what any of it really means so i aint bothering with it atm.

Played it a bit more, the saving annoys me as i had to collect 500 souls for some demon i did it then saved as performance with supersampling with nvidia inspector wasnt great so wanted to try just multisampling which works just as well but much better performance. Anyhow loaded up and continued but i only had 200 souls i.e start of that mission to collect 500 grr. Anyhow i did that and just got past the gate keeper thingy and saved when i knew i was in next chapter thing.

Once you get past the initial start of the game and then start to level up, the game really picks up and the combat and combo system just seems to flow.

Wasn't expecting to like this game that much but was pleasantly surprised by how good the gameplay was and they really seemed to put a lot of thought into the puzzles and not just throwing it in for the sake of it.

same here, bought it as had seen the 360 version for 15 quid a few times and was tempted, but £5 for the PC was too good to miss really.

slow start to the game as said but does get quite good and the combat system is nice and fluid. the huge rock gate keeper bloke was pretty awesome

I take it you are playing it on console if you have rented it?

I bought it on the 360 and i couldnt play it due to the choppy frame rate.

I think its fantastic on the PC, one of the best console to pc conversions ive seen where the PC just blows away the 360 version.

Yep, haven't had a problem with framerate or anything, just think the combat engine is a bit unimaginative.

Its pretty standard fare I guess, there was quite a few games came out on consoles the same time that are maybe a bit better, Bayonetta being one that id love to see ported.

Cant argue with it for a fiver though.
