Dashcams. Who uses them?

Was there any reason that biker keeled over?! He was pretty calm about it and even went and committed his overtake again :)

Footage quality is really good.

Looks like he was clipped into his pedal and didn't have enough time to unclip or didn't expect to be stopping.

I think this was it! He's actually laughing as I passed him.

There was audio being recorded but it's been uploaded to Facebook > Youtube and it's gone missing :-/ In fairness, the radio was off and I was in disbelief as he'd fallen over, so there wasn't much sound anyway haha!

You crashed into him because you couldn't stop when he stopped, so actually.... Yes? :p

And the others, can't multi quote on phone!

Agree to an extent, but let's be honest, 99% of drivers don't leave the advised distance between cars and if they did our roads would be even more blocked up than they are. Add the fact that people pulling out or pulling in front of you on dual carriageways or motorways puts your stopping distance out of your hands.

I don't think I've ever seen the correct stopping distances on busy roads. I can't even imagine a gap of 24 cars being adhered to on the M25! Even 23 metres @ 30mph is pretty rare!

Rightly or wrongly my point is someone slamming on the anchors for no reason at all doesn't make the car behind at fault by default. Hell people even do this as insurance scams?

And yeah cyclist didn't think he was going to stop. Don't know why so many cyclist choose to unclip the right leg either, the kirb is always on the left so it's easier and safer to rest on.

PS. Nice bit of speeding at the end, 49 in a 40 ;).

Not so sure about that! Conservation of momentum keeps things flowing. With people railing so far close to the car in front, they're more likely to brake harder forcing the person behind them to brake harder and so begins the domino effect. Leaving a decent gap behind every car results in less braking, more time to react and less chance of having to shave off too much speed, and that leads to the conservation of momentum.

But hey, we're British, we don't have time for such trivial things right? :p

Well, I've only had mine since the end of July, but today it paid for itself. Got hit by a Lithuanian lorry when stationary. He tried the 'no speak English' and refused to give details to me, but then saw the dash cam in the car. I'm now dealing with his insurance company who have admitted liability. Glad I had the camera rolling. :)

It's so annoying driving through Richmond park sometimes. The speed limit is 20mph and the roads are always filled with cyclists.

About half are going 10mph, so pretty easy to overtake if necessary. But then you get the hardcore lycra clad lot who are often managing to hit 20mph or even a fair bit faster.

The roads are narrow though, so if there's on coming traffic and your stuck behind a slow cyclist going 10mph, one of the impatient faster ones will sometimes try to over or undertake you.

Then the road opens up again and they'll hit a slight incline and slow to 15mph or less. You then overtake them while going as few mph as possible above 20, as there's a ton of impatient cars on your tail.

I've seen a few few cars get pulled over and ticketed for doing over 20mph in the park, never one of the 25mph+ cyclists.

I just bought and received a Mobius Action Cam v2 - had a quick play and seems like it should do the trick well.

Has anyone got the same and are there any must have settings I should apply using the software?

Thanks.
