Dashcams!

Micro sd, I don't do anything with the recordings, I just let them overwrite constantly, if there was a video I wanted to get off I'd just remove the memory card and use an sd card reader on my pc to transfer the file

I've had the E-prance Mini 0803 coming up for a year now and it has been faultless. The only slight niggle was the slightly loose fitting where the camera slides into it's dock.

Really easy fix and now a tight fit again.

I don't know if many people know this, but it is actually possible to get a wireless card set-up so that when you arrive home it syncs with your PC and downloads the content automatically.

This would prevent the issue of having your card constantly overridden.

Why would you want to? The whole point of a dash cam is to be 'invisible' and self-managing (i.e. wiping old content) until the point at which you need to refer to it, and if I was involved in a situation where I needed the footage then I'd just remove the memory card. I can't think of anything worse than filling up my hard drives with footage of me driving to and from work! :p

If you want to record a nice scenic Sunday drive then you'd use something more appropriate than a dash cam.

This ^^ really. Happy to have the cam installed and recording whenever I am in the car, but rarely want to watch the footage back, unless there is something of significance......I bought a fast 64GB card and on the occasions I want to watch footage back, just take the card out and plug right into my SP3.

Want a hard wired one which will record parked incidents - too many times has my car been keyed - flippin kids.

Was looking at the Road Angel Halo as I want it hard wired and no messing for the missus, discreet and out of the way until required.

Thinkware F750 has just popped up on my radar too now - only £350 installed (including rear view camera). Any other suggestions?

the only way to catch them is to have your dashcam on all the time, as the wake up on motion detection, takes far too long as proven with the guy that reviewed it

Is that the Thinkware one your talking about bud? Both the Halo and the F750 have this feature if hardwired.

I have CCTV outside my house anyways so its just about correlating the vids together. Cameras in the car would show the perpetrators face better..... and then theres also being able to catch footage whilst on the road...

I don't skimp when it comes to my gadgets - I just hate the unsightly large cameras with built in displays as they are too large, they also scream "STEAL ME NOW" unlike the ones that are hardwired in.

Me too. I've had them before with the large screens and they are noticeable - also passengers were forever asking what it was.

I've just ordered 2 x Mobius cameras - for the front and rear. I like this camera as it's tiny (match box size) and there are loads of different lenses and modifications you can do. One mod is to wire in an extended lens so that you can totally hide the camera box somewhere and leave just the lens (literally the size of a small fingernail). I might do that and hardwire both of them in, they'll almost be undetectable. Another benefit is the 120 minute battery time so you can leave it running for a while after turning the ignition off.

I love my gadgets. :)
