Dat wait after a Job Interview :O

So I had my interview with the funeral directors on Wednesday morning, all seemingly went swimmingly but I was expecting to have heard something by now as they said it would likely go forward to a competency test/interview.

Still waiting...

I mean the interviewer said I was the strongest on paper, had the most relevant experience and said 'You don't have much competition' amongst other things, so I'm feeling positive, but every minute that passes is a nightmare

Going slightly nuts as I'm off work. Reckon it would be ok to make a follow up call before the end of the day so I'm not wired all weekend?

Know the feeling, had an interview yesterday and was told everyone would know "quickly" but haven't heard anything. Personally if I don't get a call back on the same day I tend to assume I haven't got the job and get on with it.. very rare to be kept hanging unless they're checking references before making you an offer.

I do get that feeling, but I just sensed that they were really keen on me, the only question mark being whether they could offer me enough pay.

Yup, i know the feeling. I am waiting to hear back from someone at the moment. I had final interview on Tuesday, and was told to expect to hear from them by Thursday.

Out of interest, whats the "relevant experience" you had for a job at a funeral directors? It would be a job for life. Always need to get rid of the dead.

I've worked in sales and customer service in the past, but I've also voluteered with the samaritans for a few years, worked at the police headquarters talking to crime victims and spent four years working with teenagers for connexions. Lots of listening and supporting really.

My phone has rung twice in the past 20 minues, my mum and my nephew! FFS

Oh and I've been a stand up comic, which might help..
