I would call this ok if I'm honest. If you genuinely really like the girl then go for it.
HOWEVER - 'science' may throw a spanner in the works.
While you are 17, n/2+7 (bearing in mind the round down rule) = 15, winner!
If you turn 18 before she hits 16, n/2+7 = 16, problem!

In all seriousness, make sure you really like her, or you really won't be able to put up with the unpredicatable and often bizaare logic of mid teenage girls. When I was 18 I went out with a 16 yr old that was thankfully pretty level headed, but it doesn't mean her friends will be!
