Dawn of War II Beta Thread

Need a bit of advice for this game... heard a lot of talk about it being soo good and all that but I have never really been much of an RTS fan. The last RTS games I played were the old age of empires and a bit of age of empires 3, mostly play FPS and played WoW for a long time although I have stopped now. So hopefully someone can tell me if this game will be easy to get into? I know its up to me to make up my mind about me liking the game style but I am very open to all game types and am looking for a new game to play.

Any advice would be great,

I recieved it this morning as well and was met with a this isn't availble in country screen. Unfortunatley it won't unlock until 12 tonight I don't see why they just couldn't unlock it for us like they have the rest of the world.

That's so annoying, my copy turned up this morning too

me too! I got that email about 9 minutes ago =)

Still have to wait until after football practice tonight to install the game anyway though!

It will install it I guess, it needs Steam. The Steam files are also on the DVD.

I wish they'd let us install the damn thing!

DVD turned up, tried to install it but I cant get past the product registration, let alone install it. When steam tries to register the game I get an error:

Yeah 6 more hours until the game is unlocked, useless though the Americans and Aussies have been able to enjoy it for at least a day more than us though from what I've read.

It could at least give you an accurate message instead of an error pertaining to a non-existent steam purchase. Mickey Mouse could do better that that.

Well until someone does I'll post my comments on the single player in here...

I did two of the missions this morning. The interface is still quite slick in my opinion. Its working very well and its easy to select squads, I loved Ground Control so this is perfect in my book.

The campaign is flowing nicely, looks great, runs great and I'm loving the whole story style. Experience upgrades is a nice touch as you can customise your units for a particular role, i.e. marines can have more experience in guns to make their ranged attacks better or strength or health etc and they can have custom wargear as they get better and better.

I'll carry on this afternoon when I get home!
