Dayz Breaking Point (Arma 3 mod)

i play as hunter only. that means kill all.

you get faction points for your class role.

i mainly play on thirsk summer eu6

Sadly though no perks as a hunter for higher levels though so it's kinda pointless. I did hunter class for ages then realised WTF am I doing this for ;)

I'm now an outlaw, means I can kill almost all classes except my own. It's great as I can always find a random Outlaw group to join. Currently level 2, keep dipping from level 3 as I sometimes have to retaliate againsts outlaws who play KOS and lose faction points.

Love the bigger default backpack and IED blueprints on level 2/3.

Started playing this and a little disappointed with the performance I'm getting with 2x970 on my ROG Swift. Does anyone have any recommended settings or something I can do to boost my FPS please?

Arma 3 is a dog online, whatever settings you can run in singleplayer will need to be reduced for online play.

I found the thing that made the most difference for me was dropping down the view/object distance a bit.

I play on a mixture of medium/high online with the rig in my sig @ 1650x1080...hit around 40-60fps.

What res are you playing at?

ARMA 3 is strange, I run around 60fps online with 4xAA and everything at max but neither the CPU or both GPUs are near 100% usage.

Ok mate thank you.

2560x1440 mate. I guess it's going to come around with playing around then until I get a comfortable FPS.

Even when you've got it running smoothly it'll still de-sync and lag like a bitch :D

You're at a higher res than me, I'm running pretty nicely at 1920x1080 on a 7990 - as I said I can't max either GPU and it's not CPU bound, just badly coded from what I can see.

Yeah don't get too caught up with lag/desync being caused by your PC, as minsta already said, it's fairly badly coded.

TBF...if not for the multitude of mods, I don't think anyone would bother with A2 or 3 as both are fundamentally broken ;)

Can anyone give me any tips?

Bought this over Dayz standalone because I've heard it's a little more finished and what not.

Only thing is it's boring as hell! Where the hell are the people at? Been playing on Altis and I've yet to run into a single individual (been playing about 4 hours). Seriously regretting paying 25 quid. :o Managed to locate where I was on a map (my exact spot), and use a compass to travel North but died of starvation and dehydration before reaching civilisation (wanted to get to terminal/syrta). Now. Where should I spawn on Altis? Think there's central, east and west? I spawn central and swim (as I spawn on the coast) towards the little beach town and carry on heading north. Also, I appear to be dying of something on my current game. My person is a little shaky and the colour has gone kind of grey-scale. Any ideas?

Thanks for any advice. Really frustrating, where the hell are the CARS! :o

BP rule 101...Altis sucks...sucks as a map full stop but without people to play with, Altis is pointless on BP.

Jump on Thirsk, it will get you to grips with the mod, then move into Newhaven (IMO the best map).

Thanks. Why is that map so god damn big? Even when it's full you can't find a single person. :o

Plus the people refuse to chat with me for some reason. ********

Will jump on Thirsk. Any tips for that? Does it have spawn locations and stuff?

Edit: might jump on now and report back.

Altis is so big that it takes ages to find anyone, and when you do they've spent ages collecting stuff too so are likely just to off you quick.

Thirsk is good for a bit of gun play as you spawn grab a low level gun and get stuck in like everyone else. New Haven is ok but you're most likely to get sniped by someone you never see after hours of looting than anything.

The introduction of strongholds is great, means you should be able to group up safely.
