DC Vault

is fightmalaria@home apart of this as my mate in work gave me his pc to fix and hes not going to see me for 3 days so ive set boinc up on it, I would set up folding@home but its only a G series dual core cpu

or if there is anything else which the pc can manage which would benefit this team better let me know , its not much but ... :p

Happy to do any CPU project.... Might be an idea if we combine our focus again. Always seems to yield more points.

Granted we need to maintain the gains we have also.

Next 5 teams are less than 50,000,000 Mpts apart, trouble is they're nearly 80,000,000 Mpts away :(

It wouldn't actually take that long to stomp them at our current rate, lots of vault points to be had :) I'm going to keep it ticking over on one rig for now then maybe we can hit it again in a couple of months or something?

I have DPAD on my media machine, it's in the startup folder so whenever it's on it will crunch that project, I'll leave it that way and maybe add more machines if possible. I didn't do much on that project in Aug after suggesting it :o but in my defense I was on defensive duties on other projects.

As what to go for next I'm easy, currently I'm cruching NFS, Eon & Asteroids to try and maintain our positions there and trying to make gains in leiden and RNA world, though i have just two cores on RNA as they only have those horrible monster WU left.

just on the enigma@home thing is there a standalone client to use and if not is there anyway to get more than one thread to work at once because no matter what I do with boinc it will only let me do one wu at a time.

Strange, by default it should use all cores.

Check in the boinc client /tools/computer preferences/processor usage/on multiprocessor systems use at most/ .. should be on the default 0 which is 100%

also check /tools/computer preferences/disk and memory usage/use at most when in use/idle .. if it's too low that might be causing it.

finally check those same two settings above on the enigma site preferences too http://www.enigmaathome.net/prefs.php?subset=global

Asteroids is acting up, lots of "download failed", some get through but the problem is the boinc client backs off for 24 hrs, only constantly manually updating will give a consistent supply of work units. The admins are aware of the problem however.

Yet another 2 teams bite the dust and still climbing fast with no end in site. a well deserved grats to the rna team who just pulled of and team stomp of their for for a nice 20 points.

GO team OcUK

hey guys I'd do some enigma on my lowly i3 laptop. Just trying to get a feel what you guys are working on and trying to contribute what I can.
I'm seriously considering building something other than the rig in my signature. Might open a new thread though to ask about that, as I was considering using the Asus Z9PE-D8 WS Dual Socket motherboard.
