DC Vault

OK running down the seti and Einstein WU's as I only have a GT240  in weebeastie. But now running Docking and WCG (Aids) because they seem to be the medical science projects we are ranked lowest in.

I just signed up for World Community Grid. It's a fab project where the jobs keep changing according to important issues.

It's also unfortunately by far our worst projects on dc vault (we're down in 974th). Anyone fancy joining and getting us where we belong? :D

There are CPU and GPU tasks available and as I say they're always changing so it doesn't get old.

Heh see the message above you. ;)

Its also available on BOINC which is where I am running it. Although there haven't been any GPU tasks for a long time and the only projects they have been running lately are CPU tasks for Aids research and one other Clean Energy project. There have been some comments on their forums that they haven't had WU's for anything else for a while. i.e. no GPU work for at least 6 months.

For me its great, got it running on my 3930K along with Docking, I'm doing the Aids@Home project on there as the Clean Energy project uses 1GB RAM per thread

There is a command line way of adding your account as well, but yes I think uses your email address, in fact I usually connect to a project using my email address but it wouldn't work on WCG for some reason.

LOL actually I'm the team captain for WCG I just realised. :D

Aye there are two ocuk's, one from 2004, and yours from a few years back which follows the naming of the other teams (OcUK - Overclockers UK). Unfortunately both have similar numbers of crunchers. Would be good to merge them.

Don't know why there were two WCG teams, but only one is active, and now that is the one with the higher points. That's the one to make sure you join ;) There was a discussion on the two teams way back in this thread. I doubt there is any way they can be merged.

Unfortunately, WCG is just about the worst rewarding boinc project for CPU. I've been running it for a few weeks now on an assimilated i5 office PC, in parallel to other boinc projects, and it's returns are disappointing.

Be good to know which one is which. I couldn't find any other team when I searched. At least from the points pov everyone is in the same boat. And I think as far as the DC vault is concerned it still makes a difference how well we perform in the league table for a project.

The correct World Community Grid Team is the one set up by you in 2011:
OcUK - Overclockers UK
ID: 27352

An incorrect one is called OcUK ID 1467 started back in 2004 by a Chris Harris

For a long while DC vault had been listing the incorrect older team as part of our overall stats, and it was only a couple of months ago this got changed, after a quite a few reports to the DC site.

My DPAD crunching power is being stolen by my collection of folding GPU's and I've lost my 50% share in the team score :-( I might have to build up another rig :-o
There might be enough bits to get my old q6600 running again if I fix the melted cpu power plug!

I've been having a good run on Poem but now they've ran out of work, will switch to GIMPS while it's down, it will at least free more cores up for asteroids and I have a RNA WU still running .. 1288 hrs so far

I've been spreading myself a bit thin :)

Docking
Einstein
Rosetta
Seti
WCG
and Yoyo

Hopefully it helps, I tried to do ones either where I was low down or the team was low down, or if I just liked it :D

The only GpU I have running is some mobile nvidia device in my laptop, so running just CPU's on nearly all the projects.
