lol it's not relevant at all. I wouldn't buy a 9 year old BMW either...they aren't exactly a simple car and there is lots to go wrong on them.
However, a well looked after DC2 which has had it's issues sorted. I wouldn't hesitate (evidently)

I think I'd agree with you if he sold it before because he was bored of it. However if memory serves he got shot of it to help pay for a house deposit or something similar?

Imagine I sold my car now for whatever reason - lets say I either had 3 babies OR bought a Ferrari.
5 years later I decide I fancy another E39 530i. Is my ownership experience going to be the fond thing I remember it being from before? No.
Hence my opinion on the guy who fancies one again, thats all I think he'd be better off with a 350Z as per his original plan.

They don't, they stopped at 2001.
