WARNING!

Version 1.0.2 is not online (multiplayer) compatible with previous versions.
Tracks (mission recordings) recorded in previous versions will not play back correctly in version 1.0.2.

PATCH INSTALLATION

Locate the saved patch file and double click to open and follow instructions.
Installation on Microsoft® Windows® Vista and Windows 7 requires administrator rights.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

MULTIPLAYER COMPATIBILITY

This patch adds multiplayer compatibility between the Black Shark and Flaming Cliffs 2. As such, either game can host a multiplayer server that either product can join.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

TRAINING TRACKS
Old training tracks will not play back correctly in version 1.0.2. To play back older training tracks it is necessary to revert back to version 1.0.1

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
ANTI-CHEATING MEASURES

To prevent cheating by exploiting altered visibility range settings in the graphics.cfg file, the \Config\ServerGraphics.cfg has been created. Some parameters of graphics.cfg are exported to this file, which is included in the file integrity check system for online play. If the file contents on the client machine differ from the host’s, the client will not be able to connect.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

BROADCASTING RADIO STATIONS
Broadcasting stations in game are not accessible any more. This restriction has appeared in connection with a new sound engine introduction.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CHANGES TO MULTIPLAYER

1. In order to minimize the possibility of cheating in multiplayer, a system of file and folder checks on the client machine by the server have been implemented. If the contents of the checked files/folders on the client side do not match the contents of the server, the client will be unable to connect to the server. By default, the server is set to check the folder "\Config\Weapons". The specific files and folders to be checked can be set in the following configuration file: "\Config\network.cfg", using the "integrity_check" parameter.

2. Expanded the scripting possibilities for online servers. For more information, see "\Scripts\net\".

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

ERROR PROBABILITY FOR RADAR-GUIDED MISSILES ON LOW ALTITUDE
Increased the error probability for radar-guided missiles (ARH, SARH, radio-command guided) based on altitude above ground. Error probability is reduced as radial velocity increases to 500 km/h. Above 500 km/h, error probability is minimal regardless of altitude.

PROBLEMS AND KNOWN SOLUTIONS

ATI Radeon: using Catalyst 9.4 (and up) drivers is known to cause possible crashing and graphical artifacts. To solve this, disable the Catalyst A.I. (right-click on the desktop -> Catalyst™ Control Center -> Graphics Settings -> 3D -> Catalyst A.I. -> Disable Catalyst A.I.).

and so begins the DCS series, patching each previous module with improvements from the latest one (I'm counting FC2 as an evolution of BS!) :D. This sound engine is a massive step forward compared to the old one.

With any luck we should have some new info on the A-10C in the next couple of months now they can focus resources on it, unless they have another military contract. I wonder what goodies are in store for us! From a google translation of the Russian side, Yo-Yo appears to say theres a chance of dynamic weather with the A-10C but no promises!

Now I just need my left arm to repair it's self so I can fly again, I tried with the arrow keys but it just doesn't happen :p

I keep failing the mission "Night Hunt"... well, not failing it, but the car that leaves the house after I've destroyed said house, I just. can't. find. The mission is "completed" but I wanna get that car, dammit! I can see him with F7 view, but I just can't locate him when in F1. Anyone else manage to actually get the git before he makes his escape?

I got him, but it was the 5th or 6th attempt at the mission IIRC. You really have to be on the ball when he makes his getaway. Have to admit this was one of the more atmospheric missions, the complete darkness was so claustrophobic.

If you feel like you need a hand, you could try cycling CTRL-F5 and then zooming in, it won't help much in the dark, but it's a start.

Been considering this a while (missed the sale price!) and finally took the plunge. On the D2D site there was a link underneath saying would you like to buy it from the EU version of the site for 26 Euros? No brainer, not a huge saving but it works out about £23.

Tried a take off without 'RTFM', spent five minutes pirouetting around the skies fighting the beast. A few quick clicks of the autopilot buttons and mapping the trim button to the stick soon sorted that. Really impressed with the short time I have spent so far, what a sim!

I'm having issues with trim, it seems to work randomly, I have a feeling the guide is missing something essential out. From what I can tell you pitch, press the trim, let go of trim(why not just say click, is there some amount of time you need to hold it down?), center stick(let go).

Sometimes, my nose just pitches up as if I never clicked it, sometimes it stays where I want it fine, it works more times than it does not but when it doesn't it's very frustrating because I don't know why. I'll just reside to accepting it's a bug or my crap joystick or something ;)

The trim is very confusing for most beginners, as most people are used to trims on Planes. The trim on the black shark is different.

Trim is done by first pressing the trim button, manoeuvring the Helicopter to the way you want it and releasing the trim. Edit2:- Enabling the Controls indicator will also help a lot (CTRL+Enter)

Normally when you release the trim button the Auto pilot and stabilisation system will try to maintain that pitch and attitude as well as setting a new centre position for the joystick. It is important to remember the trim button does 2 things at once.

For better and more detailed information on the autopilot and trim system go here.

Edit:- You could try engaging the Flight Director for now. That disables the autopilot but maintains the stabilisation systems. The trim should behave in a more familiar fashion now.

I bought this game on Friday night, its excellent.

Right back to the old Gunship 2000 days on the Amiga.

Is anyone still playing this - if you can call it playing - more like studying...

Cant wait for the Apache...

I had a sortie or two over Christmas. :)

Unfortunately don't have the time to really give missions a go any more. Would love to have a full end-to-end sortie with some others online. C'est la vie, I have other priorities in life now :(
