DDR4 prices

I'm thinking of doing a big upgrade which consists of CPU, MOBO, RAM, GPU and PSU.

The only thing that's stopping me is the price of DDR4 RAM as I intend to upgrade to the new Haswell-E CPUs. Will these prices go down to current DDR3 RAM prices any time soon?

mate atm prices are not porblem you cant buy the ****ers...

I got cash waiting to buy 5820k+mb+ram but THERE IS NO RAM.... Two weeks now at lest not one i want to buy. I dont need 32gb for gaming..... Or 3000mhz or whatever just plain 2400mhz one.

Is OCUK going to get any 8GB (2x4GB) kits or just single modules other than the cheap Crucial stuff? Can't see prices dropping much if any for the rest of this year at least and it's enough for what I need so can just get more when it does. Would help with the short supply too.

I doubt it will drop any time soon
You could always get the cheapest you can get and then add more when you're low on ram. You can buy ram heatsinks separately

I have been thinking the same thing, there just isn't any about, and I don't want to spend monstrous amounts on 3000MHz stuff.

If there isn't any in stock by mid october I'll be grabbing 8GB of some of the cheaper stuff and upgrade to more/faster at a later date.

Nope, why would we? This is a quad channel design/setup, dual channel kit is no use.
Prices on DDR4 have actually rose due to terrible output from factory making supply even worse, I doubt we shall see big reductions until 2015.

We have the largest in stock range of DDR4 compared to anyone else, 15 seperature SKU's in stock right now from Crucial, Corsair and G.Skill. :)

Corsair 2666MHz LPX set at £239.99 is a fair price and in stock. :)

Hmm... Do I get those or wait the (supposed) week or two for my Amazon order to come through. It definitely looks like lots of suppliers expected stock that didn't turn up.

This lack of availability has meant my rig is sitting on my dining room table half built.

Are all these chips being made in one or two factories I wonder?

I don't understand why people keep making comments RE pricing. It's just because there aren't any value kits yet. Welcome to early adoption. Or not, as the case may be.

Why wait when you could be up and running by this weekend and with faster memory. :)

Ever the salesman!

I still want the GSkill 3000MHz kit. I just want it for a fair price. Regardless of availability, four hundred pounds is too much for me.

We don't know what G.skill's issue is, we ordered like 200 kits, they have shipped less than 5 kits so far. If 195pc arrived tomorrow we'd drop the price massively.

If we dropped the price now to say £299 we'd sell loads and unable to deliver as g.skill are not shipping. :(

Production on DDR4 seems very poor. :(
