Hi all
There’re a ton of “what RAM should I buy” threads so here’s a DDR5 RAM buying guide from Buildzoid.
Mods, please let me know if this is not allowed but I can’t see why it wouldn’t be.
TLDR:
Want a cheap kit that you can overclock and is stable and fast? Get the TEAMGROUP T-Create Classic 10L DDR5 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) 5600 MT/s
AMD: go buy Hynix XMP 6000 MT/s CL30
Intel: 6800 MT/s CL30 A Die works on almost any Intel 13th gen.
For a good Intel RAM get Corsair 6600 MT/s CL 32 for good out of the box performance using XMPs.
24gig modules can overclock better than 16gig modules (will elaborate).
Intel memory controllers are all over the place and are often weak or even rubbish.
Z690 boards are no way near as good at posting high end RAM speeds as Z790.
2 DIMM motherboards are much better at DDR5 Overclocking.
Edit: Here's an Intel memory scaling guide from Hardware Unboxed with help from Buildzoid
Regards
