Dead Rising

Anyone noticed quite a high pitched noise in dead rising? Seems to be to do with footstep/ambient sounds?
 
best way to kill sniper carlito , use the pillars as cover and get close to him and plug him full of bullets with the uzi (make sure u grab it off the blue edge before u run through to the sequence). i did it first try.

or if u wanna be a smug bugger like me, use a skate board to get close to him and then use the uzi at point blank range.
 
damn it i cant get the pimp one this time around i got 4 men and 4 women, i can think of 3 women that would have been easy to get but didnt work out as planned so i just saved them. Now im lvl 34 so gonna get a few more achievements this play through and then ill do all the case files next time.

I can't get a shot at him without getting picked off and I can't get close enough to attack with any sword for the same reason. I bought this on Monday, I said I wasn't going to bother but didn't want to wait to get it on rental and I'm glad I didn't wait, this game is so much fun! :)

Like Nokkon posted I too have had zero trouble with the Carlito encounters at all. The second one I just ran towards him, took some shots on the way (3 or 4 hits) then pummeled him to death with a baseball bat. Very satisfying :p

He had already taken a bit of damage from Brad taking pot shots at him so I didn't do all the work. I thought the Isabela fight was far more annoying.

I noticed you get the achievement straight away without taking them to the rescue room? Or is it a different achievement once they have been properly saved?

As soon as you have all 8 tow you get the achivement.

if you wanna be even more smug and defeat him in about 10 seconds simply run up to him with the small chainsaws and press x twice. easy peasy. Use same method for the sniper family.

1. Ignore everything until 9pm the first day
3. kill Adam the clown in wonderland, let the guy open the shortcut, then kill him
4. wait in the bathroom til the coward scoop at 9am 2nd day and head to North Plaza
5. Kill the coward, then head over to kill the hatchetman
6. kill everyone locked in the room next to where you killed the hatchetman
7. go to wonderland plaza for the lovers and kill them

Notice at this point you have no survivors... theres a reason for this. You would have to lug these people around while doing these tasks, taking the risk of killing them. But here's where you start your rescues, and you only have to go between Paradise Plaza and Wonderland via the shortcut.

8. by this time it should be nearly 11am... grab pam and heather from paradise plaza (by the toy store first floor)
9. if its after 11am go kill ron in the sandwich shop, if not head back to wonderland plaza and wait til 11am then back to paradise plaza to kill ron
9. wait in paradise bathroom til 12pm then go do "above the law" scoop in wonderland plaza
10. head back to paradise plaza bathroom until 3pm
11. go back to wonderland plaza for the 2 people hanging off the bunny (kill the guy, save the girl)
12. head back to paradise plaza for the cult scene, and save the girl from the crate

please note that it is very important to do steps 8-12 in order

Infinite Mode

Just completed overtime mode (which was a joke, was kidna disappointed how easy it was and the at the fact you can stay in North Plaza to get all 10 queens :( ) and got the true ending, nice. Now i got this infinite mode unlocked and notice there are two achievements for it.

Has anyone had any luck with this infinite mode? Surviving for 5 or 7 days seems a long time to go without saving tbh.

There's a problem with this.

Jennifer in the box 'spawns' before the 2 people hanging from the bunny.

By this point you have 6, so because of + 1 (Jennifer) the people on the bunny won't spawn as that would put the number of people you could save to 9.

So on reflection my solution is wrong as well (knew there was something wrong with it). I think I remember killing both the Lovers and saving Jennifer.

hum worked for me, but still. Found two other strategies (below) that i haven't tried but am told they work too:

1. Save Natalie from the roof and take her with you.
2. Go help Brad with Carlito and then with Barnaby.
3. Head back to the Food Court w/ Natalie and wait for the call about Leah (woman in jewelry shop in Al Fresca Plaza) and then go save her.
4. Go back to Food Court and wait until when the convicts show up and tell Leah & Natalie to wait in the bar area while you run out and save Sophie.
5. When you get back Natalie & Leah should still have about half health. Heal all up with wine and wait for the call about the space ride in Wonderland.
6. Once you get the call take all the girls and stash them in the cosmetics shop directly to your right as you enter Wonderland and take on Adam the Clown.
7. Save Greg and have him show you the bathroom shortcut (bring the girls with you) and then kill Greg and save in the bathroom.
8. Use the shortcut to go to Paradise Plaza and wait for a call about the lovers in Wonderland. Leave the girls in the bathroom (in the Wonderland bathroom) and go get both the Lovers & kill the guy. Save in the bathroom once you have all 4 girls (Natalie, Leah, Sophie, & Tonya).
9. Now if you still have all 4 girls, go back to Paradise Plaza via the shortcut and wait. If you've lost one girl, stay in Wonderland and go back to Paradise every once and a while to check if the raincoat cult encounter has activated. If it has, leave the women in the Paradise Plaza bathroom and go save Jennifer who is in that crate near the movie theater.
10. Okay now you should have 4 women at the most. If you saved Jennifer & Natalie and have 5 women kill one of them and save once you have four and wait for the call for 'Above the Law'.
11. Once you get the call go back to Wonderland and carefully make your way to the upstairs clothing shop where Above the Law takes place. Bring the girls with you and stash them in the shop next to where Above the Law happens before activating it. Kill Jo and rescue the four women in the clothing store. Boom, achievement unlocked for Frank the Pimp & Tour Guide if you don't already have it. You don't even have to make it back to the security room with all of them to get it.

Not too sure about this one, as it seems too simple, i dunno :)

only 8 survivors can be alive in the mall at a time I think... 5 survivors spots most be open for the cult to start. Forget the cult. Kill all the guys... have 6 female. Wait till 5:00pm then get "Mark of the Sniper" and "Antique Lover"... both guys... KILL KILL KILL...

it may be that im tired, but this game is so frustrating.

The aiming system is beyond awful!

Im fighting Carlos and just die - ive aolmost killed him but it takes to long to aim, is there a way of getting a better gun before facing him at all?

Not just you McD, i find this game so damn fustrating and ive given the benefit of the doubt numerous times but my god the control system is awful. Would have been better if they had the option of first person view but nope they didnt add...at least with hitman you had that option.

Still im giving this game a try, but i think its just too fustrating and already ive broken one controller because of this game:p.
