Dead Space 2 is up on Steam now with a special offer on dead Space 1 as well. DVD retail is a tenner cheaper if you google it, I personally will probably go with Steam because it saves so much ****** about.
SO WHO IS BUYING?
£19.99 retail by the way

From Steam? No bloody chance, shouldn't digital media be cheaper (less manufacturing costs, no profit for the retailer to be taken off etc)? Taking the mick to be honest charging £30 for it on Steam

Well.....

Yes I will buy but not sure if im happy to get it at full price. I may just give it a month or two till steam get their spring sale going. Atm prices are high coz steam already had a sale over xmas.

Did really enjoy the first game tho, esp the dismembering hehe

It is a shame STEAM don't do better discounts for peeps who pre order I am sure they would sell shed loads more

Agreed, the high prices upset me when i see discounts for hard copy pre-orders. Not having an optical drive and generally preferring steam anyhoo since I have tons of stuff on it already stops me from buying.

Note that Steam (Valve) don't set the prices, the publishers do. If you have beef with it being too expensive, talk to EA. Not getting it as i've not played the 1st one yet lol.

Yeah i'd defo play the first one first I really enjoyed it. I think the second one is on one of saturns moons and the first one is on a spaceship the ISS ItchyMutha or whatever it was lol.

Limited activations means no sale for me until they're patched out unfortunately.

I'm hoping the Steam version's DRM will be patched out a couple of weeks after launch like Bad Company 2's was, but I'm not banking on it.

You have a limited number of simultaneous installs. If you uninstall, you reclaim that install.

Where's the problem with that?

I've seen the problems people have had with this DRM system before. Riddick on Steam refused to activate for quite a few people, and they were given the runaround between Steam, Tages and Atari, with all three denying responsibility.

Besides, managing one games' activations is ok, managing lots of them? A pain in the neck, so I avoid all games with limited activations.

Retailers like to sell competitively publishers like to try and charge extortionate amounts.

Guess who sets the steam prices.
