Dead Space 2 .

Does the PS3 version implement the holographic save game GUI this time around or does the screen still go to the black Sony API?

I hate the save game screen on the ps3. Can't answer your question but saving my game on the pc version is sooooo much better than doing it on the ps3.

Saving goes to selecting via XMB screen well im 99% sure it does i havent played it since last night :P dont see as it an issue however

No, it's not an issue - the game still gets saved. ;) It's just a little foible of mine from Dead Space 1 that it just broke the immersion a little.

It's one of those games where I get to a save station and think ok I'll take a break now but then I just end up carrying on, so I made it to Chapter 6 after 1 session last night, I'll fire it back up tonight when it's dark again for the added tension :)

LOL, same here. Save. "I'll just have a look what's round this corner," and then you are sucked in until you can save again. :D

Sad as it maybe but I'm heavily into dead space as a whole, playing through the first one again. Just finished the iOS game, pretty good in all honesty :) Will start DS2 when I have finished the first and having a few rounds on multiplayer inbetween... loads of fun with a broken wrist  at least it's keeping my fingers/thumb moving :p then of course there is Extraction to go through :D

Already got both of the anime films they have done and just had the book, Martyr, arrive yesterday. That should be good, tells a lot of the backstory behind Altman and the Unitoligist religion.

Add me on PSN if you fancy a game.

Just finished on survivalist. I don't know why anybody would play this on normal, you get far too much ammo, lack of ammo and health is what makes this game feel so satisfying.

Chapter 10 = INTENSE atmosphere, oh my god.

My run clocked in at 7 hours 30 minutes, I didn't rush at all though. Now thinking of doing new game+ zealot or jumping into hardcore. Hmm...

Far scarier than the first game for me.

Is normal level casual Margaret?

There's casual, normal, survivalist and zealot (then hardcore after)

Survivalist was decent difficulty, ammo was a struggle at times because it seems stores are spaced out way more than before :/ at one point I had 1 bar of health and only 2 plasma cutter shots and was out of ammo for everything else, the next section had about 8 enemies to get past before I could progress. Rage was had. Couldn't get to a store because the door locked behind me. :/

Good challenge though :) Wonder if hardcore is harder than zealot or if the only difference is no checkpoints and 3 saves. You definitely can't new game+ for hardcore I found out earlier too.

Ah thanks, I really wouldn't bother with the hardest levels just yet. This is EA, you know what they will do. The same as DS1 release mega armour and guns as dlc ;)

I did read that zealot is similar to hardcore. Can you continue a game for zealot? So you start with all you have gained?

Not being able to do that on hardcore makes it much harder than zealot then.

Packs are coming out which is basically paying for cheats.

**** EA.

and those fast moving wolf like buggers on chapter six are terrifying. :(

Just started playing the first one again whilst I wait for my TV to be repaired (using my PC monitor currently), and it's still scary as hell two years later. Awesome.

Have to agree, survivalist is like the sweet spot(played original ds on hard first time and had good balance), i havent played zealot yet but i would assume it would be too frustrating for a first playthrough. I was pretty careful on my first playthrough and i found i didnt have to retry too many scenes.

Necromorphs just arent scary if they cant rend you limb from limb in a few swipes :D

This is best played in a dark room with the sound ramped up, I **** myself on more than one occasion last night from sudden in game noises.

There's a bit early on where you go into this corridor with a fire burning and suddenly these jets switch on to extinguish the flames. I jumped a foot off my chair at that point.
