Dead Space dissapointed

I tried it with a pad, but it doesn't fix that he turns at a frustratingly slow pace, so much so that it often costs you a chunk of his lifebar when he's being stabbed in the back and you can't turn in time. Trying to aim with the joystick is also irritating when you have a keyboard right in front of you.

I couldn't get into Deadspace either, I didn't like the feel of it. The over the shoulder view made it feel like a console game.

I played through it with a 360 controller. It felt strange at first after playing many FPSers but I got used to it, other than this I had no issues and felt it was a great game.

As above - having VSYNC on really stuffs up the mouse controls, feels like it's "floaty".

Still gave up on it though, it wasn't what it was hyped up to be, and I found the save points really annoying.

Uninstalled it, impulse buy on Steam, hated every minute of it, dull repetitive rubbish. clunky, slow, boring enemies, trapped in room, get rushed , move on etc etc, the odd grunt from isaac?:(

Ok so I implemented some of th tings you guys said, such as:

Turn off vysnc and increase dpi on mouse...

It has improved it, but it still seems not right...

Anyway, Il perserver as I paid for it.

SORTED: posted here before about control problem, increased DPI and Turned VSync OFF and control is perfect - no problems and delay, can't wait to play game again!

I put up with the dodgy vsync issue all the way through the game right upto the last chapter as I just assumed it was meant to be a slower paced game, just like the original resident evil game on the PS1 lol. Really good game with some insanely good high blood pressure moments!

I'm going to have give up on this game as well I think, first time I've not completed a game in ages.

At chapter 6 atm, but it's really starting to drag on. The story and characters are not giving me any incentive to carry on, they're just dull and drab. The combat feels ok though, really fun at times but again the other aspects of the game, it's starting to drag on. The controls are not designed for the PC mouse & keyboard, but with a bit of adjustment it's been fine for me.

Ah well, was only a couple of quid :).

Did anyone else who was disappointed with the first one find Dead Space 2 any better?

Dead Space 1 is better, for me. I was gripped by DS1 until I completed it, however I've given up on DS2 somewhere near the end, and can't be arsed to finish it.

I thought both 1+2 where great games. Dead Space 1 is one of the very few games I have played till the end and Im planning on doing the same with the second

The trick is to have vsync off in the game but force it on in your graphic card control panel. Funnily enough you have to do the same with the sequel.

Even though this is a PC game, it's much more suited for the console, i.e. play it with the pad and sit back, not on a desk (and turn off Vsync for the lag problems!).

When I first played it on the PC, I hated it. Now I've got used to the controller and am playing on the couch, I have to say it's now one of my favourites.
