I'm only on Chapter 5 and scared witless by it!

The monsters in the walls give me the creeps as does the one that keeps blooming regenerating! Arrggh. Wasn't so bad playing it in the day time but it'll be dark when I get home... eeek!

Am I missing something about this game on PC? The visuals are amazing and it looks to be a cinematic game, but I just find it impossible to play

1. With a keyboard and mouse it is sooo laggy its nigh on impossible to control
2. The REALLY annoying camera angle looking over the guy's right shoulder just doesnt feel right. He should at least be centered like in other RPG style games, not off to the left of the screen blocking the view!

Is there a patch out to fix the dodgy controls, or do people have 360 pads for the PC?

Disable vsync ingame then force it using drivers/rivatuner. That'll fix the mouse lag.

The camera angle is deliberate, for me (and many others) it adds a feeling of claustrophobia that helps add to the tension.

1. Most of us force Vsync through the Nvidia Control Panel (Disabled in game) and with a half decent card will give a very smooth 60FPS as apposed to 30FPS enabled through the game.

2. Camera angle I found was fine, although i cant speak for everyone.

The game for me was fantastic and i really found the K/B and mouse great to use. (G9)

Ahhh I'll try the vsync thing! So there's no way to set the camera angle to a different view then?

Shame!! Really dont think I can get used to that angle but I'll give it a go!

In chapter 7 now.
On xbox 360 as a rental, makes the game more scary knowing I cant aim very well at all with the controller.

Still, I can only play for an hour at a time before I gotta take a break

I would hate to think what its like aiming at those tentacle things that drag you to the floor and drag you along with the 360 Controller.

It was damned hard with the mouse and i guess intentional like you were disoriantated or something

I play everything with keyboard and mouse apart from this game which just seems to work so much better with a pad. Even the aiming feels easy with the pad and thats saying something cause I much prefer key+mouse.

Nothing, if you had it on the PS3/360 you'd get an achievement, other than that nowt. You can play it through again as, like all difficulties, completing it allows you to keep your equipment and buy the military suit for a mental amount of credits.

that sucks. can i start impossible mode and just buy the suit?

then i can say i've completed the game by collecting all the items and getting all the power ups!

It wasn't too hard on the 360 pad. Hated those bits though, almost as much as shooting the meteorites
