Dead X1900XTX

well it arived today but on booting up it displays checkerboard!!!!
then re sets itself! a sapphire X1900XTX fan spins, bios gets a few lines across then windows boot screen is just a checkerboard display!

Hope OCUK can turn this around quickly as i need this up and running soon as, gezzz disapointed now.

Yeah should'nt take to long, theres plenty in stock so can easily be replaced.

Yeah id be gutted to, when i buy a new card i always keep my old one just in case, then once i get the new one in and working i sell it.

Hi,

same thing happened to me last week with my new X850XT, first one was was totally showing rubbish, just built my first A64/PCI-express system so that kinda spoiled the first-boot moment.

Anyway I was in a rush to get me new system up, and they told me that it would take seven to ten days to turn the RMA around (I send them card, they test it then finally send out a new card) so I simply ordered a new card which arrived the next day. .

Now they have recieved my faulty card back and refunded me the wrong amount of money (£35.00 less than what I paid).

They said they will cover your return postage (RMSD).

well sent card back today RMSD after getting an rma number from a helpfull guy called andy on the ocuk support line. soon as the card arrives he will send me out a replacment card so should be with me saturday!

I hope thats the end of my X1900XTX woe's as i was gutted yesterday when it booted up to lines and checkaboard then it froze or re set itself.

roll on saturday!

but it was DOA so there ya go, plus a mate just bought round his X1800xt and that works perfectly so X850xt and x1800xt both work so gota be the x1900

still i wanted it all working tonight lol, never mind! great service from ocuk

how much was your new graphics card (inc p&p)

What are you upgrading from (X1800XT-PE?)

Is the card in your sig a genuine X1800XT-PE, or a lesser card overcloked and maybe flashed?

What is your Primary monitor and display res?

hi,

well screen res is 1600 X 1200

price for new card was same as on the ocuk site plus postage

x1800xt was a flashed XT

and upgradeing because i got same as i paid for x1800xt

I had 3 weetabix for breakfast lol

and as soon as I get the system fully set-up and overclocked I'm gonna come find you in an online game and frag u again and again. you will be able to enjoy watching your head explode in 16AF

Of course its your money and you can do what you want with it but please try to justify that purchase to your overclocking brothers and sisters?
