Deadliest Catch

Im glad you lot say they risk thier lives whenever they go out to fish. Im in that boat too (haha).

I get customers everyday, new ones and regular ones saying "Its a disgrace you sell this fish for the prices you do" im like WTF??? Do you not realise how its caught?

Personally im supprised its not costing more to the customer. Those fisherman/woman are a rare breed and deserve everyting they can get from the catches they make..

If the prices of fish/crab etc goes up ill still buy it because I know, in my mind anyhow, its going to taste good and knowing what people have been through to get it to my plate, it will taste a whole lot better.

Im a fishmonger in Morrisons, Seafood retailer of the year, again.

Sorry to derail slightly BUT........ for every box of fish landed in this country, five others were thrown back because of size or quotas etc ....... 90% of those 5 boxes are dead fish and we wonder why the stocks are disappearing!

sorry, had to let it out.

It's been great following them through a few seasons but my memory is pants for names. Sig's boat seems tight & top boy on deck is well sound, right down to how Sig took back the Alccy funny bearded dude they are loyal through & through. He proper stresses constantly about his fishing & questions himself continuously but Always comes home with a good haul. Top Dude & top crew in my opinion.

Theres one episode which is great, they see a man fall overboard from another boat and they go and rescue him, very dramatic and emotional scenes.

Sig is the man. :)

When I was in Cuba, they had US TV with the "new" new series, and the commentary was done by an American (obviously!) and it wasn't the same. Same goes for Mythbusters, it just didn't sound right with a yank talking..

The american narator is far better than that bland Uk one!! I saw the program on an american TV station and it adds a whole level of excitment to the program..

Yeh it's very good, been watching it on c4, very sad when the boat sank and 5 died :(. It just shows you how dangerous the job is. I bet they don't even think how dangerous it is though.

Saw the ad for this ages ago, and ended up watching "Trawlermen" when I was drunk by mistake... my girlfriend asked why I was watching such turd and can't stop taking the mick when the proper programme is on

The advert annoys me. That woman. 'What did you think this was seaworld?!' or something. Yeah, that's exacly what I thought when I stepped on the ******* fishing vessel you tool.

Other than that, love the show! and ice truckers etc :)

Such a shame, he was only 53.

I believe he only had a 1/3 share, isn't the name of the boat the name of one of the shareholders in it?

It's owned by Phil & Cornelia Marie Devlin. She handles the business side of things, whilst Phil does the fishing.

Phil's sons will take part ownership of the boat along with Cornelia now I guess.
