Dealing with difficult retailer, advice please

Fingers crossed they all turn up Friday for you. Nothing worse than when sellers and stores try fob it off on couriers.

^^^ was just going to comment the same... you mention he's a one-man business, if this is stuff worth 4k then quite plausibly he's not likely keeping everything in stock but just ordering in/reselling when he gets an order.

Presumably, something got delayed his end but fobbing you off with an apparently fake tracking number when you chased it is a **** move, it was likely him trying to buy a bit of time while the stuff actually gets sent to him or indeed drop shipped directly to you.

If you look at the actual tracking numbers when you receive it you may well find it's either come directly to you from the supplier/wholesaler or indeed if it was only actually posted from him/then from the UK more recently than when he'd actually claimed he sent it.

Doesn't help but if its a one man band he might’ve ordered from the supplier once the sale complete so that he’s not holding stock.

Not the buyer's problem though, he needs to adjust his delivery times to reflect this. He could've at least told the OP that there is a delay, rather than swerve his many attempts to contact him.

I don't believe any of this topic is true because what I'm led to believe from this forum it's ALWAYS the customers that are terrible :p

I find especially smaller/one man band companies, seem strangely resistant to just keeping the customer informed even when there is nothing to say.

Double check everything very carefully when they arrive because at this stage I would have lost any trust I had in him.

Apparently when he first shipped it, it ended up at his storage and not my address.

LOL see:

One man band guy was waiting for the wholesaler/manufacturer and likely hadn't even received it himself when he first started fobbing you off!

Yeah definitely seems that way, the tracking link that he sent in the new email is still unrecognised by Parcelforce as well, which...is exactly the issue I had all last week. So I won't get too excited for Friday just yet...

Just get a refund. It doesn't sound promising.

I know how you feel though, any large sums of money spent, and when you get a rough service like this its not very nice at all.
