Thanks for punching my wing mirror off. just because you didn't have enough room to get past. Drive safely now ;)

Sounds like he did it on purpose by your post.. did he? If so, did you give him a reason to be annoyed at you? Or was it an accidental mirror hit?

Isn't there a motorcyclist bloke on here who punched someones mirror off? made a thread about it and got shot down like a WW2 German bomber..

I guess partly my fault - I was tring to turn right, and he was trying to filter past the oncoming traffic, as soon as I saw him coming I stopped, but I hadn't given him enough room to get past, so he stops next to me and punches my mirror off. Ah well - only the glass needs replacing.

Edit: Whoops wrong quote, I meant about giving space not mirror check, actually I am not sure what I read, but the biker should have realised that you are in a much bigger car then him and can splatter him. If the road is clear and you are already commited to the turning, ie some other driver let you past. He(rider) should have anticipated this and let you go as well.

Well, I would have, my last accident on the bike was because someone behind me let another driver go ahead and they "did not see me".

there was someone else... but I've also done it, but only after the guy strangled me at gas station (i did consider legal action from cctv), but decided that removing the rolls royce wing mirror was a more worthy punishment

was simply red mist revenge...

-guy cuts me up
-gave him finger (all I could think of to let him know my displeasure at almost being knocked off)
-fill up with petrol
-guy pulls up and physically assaults me (body armour won the day here, he wanted me to take lid off, yeah right!)
-missus in tears drags him into car and screams off in silver shadow
-spot him in traffic jam and payback was sweet and made me feel better (i was litrally shaking with rage at this point)

i suggest op nearly killed him, prolly never even realised.... not good behaviour from biker but sometimes stuff happens. Without knowing the full story it's just another 'mad biker smashing stuff up', would love to hear his side of things

my ex once accused someone of cutting her up in B&Q CP, she came out to find they had taken wheel brace to side of scooby and smashed every panel :(

think you have to remember when a biker gets almost knocked off it's a scary scary thing, and can provoke crazy reactions (almost understandable as your car almost killed him)

Yeah I appreciate stuff happens, but he was riding slowly, I was nearly stationary - he just didn't like the fact I'd blocked his way :(

OK mate no worries. I do check my mirrors though as I slow down if I know theres a biker around cause you never know where they seem to go.

That is bad on the biker, what are the rules regarding filtering anyway, I was under the impression, that if you filter, and hit something, it is automatically your fault as far as insurance, ect are concerned?

I thought the law changed recently in favour of bikers, because the amount of idiots that change lanes without checking mirrors nevermind doing blind spot checks, aslong as the bike was withing reasonable speed that is.
Does not help the OP though, if he got his Reg he could do him.

Have to say, would not have a clue. But when I do filter, always watch indicators, wheels and car angle, as indicators alone are not a good enough sign :(.

But yeah, from what op said, biker seemed like a fair weather tard. They are usually the worst I find. Impatient and king of the road sort of thing.

Me too, even glance at the drivers through their mirrors if I can, the old If I can see you then you can bloody see me :p

I was sat in traffic behind a car once that had it's window punched in by a biker with a chain wrapped around his hand. The only reason I could see why the biker did this was because the car was quite close to the white line, not giving the biker his space.
