Today I went with my Mum & Sister to find out about my Mums progress with her COPD and it was all bad news.
The Consultant said her lung capacity had massively reduced in a year from 38% to 27% and there was nothing he could do for her because she was getting worse by the week. He suggested an End Of Life Package and to sign a DNAR (Do Not Attempt Resuscitation) because it would be pointless. MacMillan were contacted and they will pick her up once a week to take her for meals & company for the day.
My Mum was totally fine with it and said she wanted it all to end as soon as possible and we are not to talk her out of the DNAR.
It hasn't hit me yet but I was amazed how she was so calm.
[TW]Fox will probably call me a liar but I don't care.
