Death Stranding

IF u end up wanting to sell it am after the game mate as would like to get it for my step sons birthday , still kicking myself i losted a bid on one wat sold for £22 i fall to sleep and missed it lol ........

Question for the people who have finish the game----After you have got to the end can u still play about in the world or is it game over ?
I tjink I would expect a little more.

I have played it for about 4 hours so far, it is most marvelous. Kojima gets a bit self indulgent at times during the first hour or so but after that its all gravy.

This might fit your bill mate @Gregster , its relaxing, involves setting up ladders, building bridges, driving vans and delivering stuff aka "DPD man works in wales simulator".

You even get to be a single, un-married parent, just like in South Wales.

I just did that port section. No spoilers, but it took me by surprise just a little. I’m finding myself helping to build structures more than delivering cargo. I’ve been in so many close calls, only to come across an online ladder, rope, sign etc. I don’t think I’ve ever felt such a sense of community in a game that has so little multiplayer contact.

I wasn’t expecting it to be so tense though. @Besty it gets less relaxing at times! I thought it would be more relaxing. At least the BTs are easy to avoid and the MULEs easy to beat up.

I also haven’t skipped a single cutscene or piece of dialogue. That is unheard of. The first couple of hours was a mix of ‘what the hell is going on’ and ‘wow, this is crazy’. Graphically it’s a beautiful game too - it runs perfectly for me with next to no load times.

Just a note, trying to blitz through a BT zone on a bike isn't a safe bet....

I got trapped by the sludge and was on the brink of being yanked off the bike before it finally broke free, even then I could still hear them hot in pursuit as I went pedal to the metal, bumping off rocks as I went. It was rather alarming :D

Having so many issues with the frame rate in this game it's mind boggling, just walking will often make my FPS drop from 60 to high 40's as soon as i stop moving it goes back up to 60, sometimes my FPS will randomly tank to the high 30's and be stuttery as all hell only fixed by a game restart, quite often cut scenes will appear to be 30fps despite my FPS counter showing 60fps.

Hell i've had occasions where just standing still with nothing on the screen moving the FPS was constantly fluctuating between 45 and 60 with nothing happening.

I just hope to god this isn't a sign of what to expect from Horizon Zero Dawn.

What res and settings are you playing at? Also how much VRAM do you have on your 570? If I remember correctly there are 4GB and 8GB variants. If you are on a 4GB card then you might be running at the limit of VRAM depending the settings/whats going on in game.

It might be worth running some monitoring software if you have it, just to see what kind of utilization and VRAM usage you are getting, I wouldn't think that the CPU would be the issue, but still might be worth checking the numbers there too.

Maybe try and drop the memory streaming setting to low and see if it makes a difference, I know that's a VRAM hog.

It’s amazing how the game opens up after the ‘starting area’ and continues to throw new stuff at you hours and hours later. Order 35, that’s a game changer.

I’m struggling to pull myself away from the game at the moment. I see why people say to stick with it too, the game transforms later on.

It's the 4gig version, i've tried lowest settings at 720p and get the same thing, even tried locking it to 30fps at 720p and still get FPS drops to the mid 20's with vram usage around 2.5gb and gpu usage of 40%.

I've only played through prologue and episode 1 so far. Interesting game, I still know **** all about whats going on but I'm sure it'll all be revealed in good time.

The world detail is really nice, only thing that looks a bit off is the faster moving water like waterfalls IMO.

Still though, its a very good looking game.
