Debadging

mine has the double-bluff debadge. It's debadged, so everyone thinks it's a 316 that i want them to think is a 330.
I may get some 316 badges to pop on for a bit.
has anyone considered the fact that there arent really that many boy racers any more. they all seem to be "low and slow" these days in deliberately rusty golfs.

Yes, I'm sure thats right - everyone thinks its a 316, a model that never existed as a Coupe.
I drove to the places i wanted to go. I sometimes drove a little bit enthusiastically but I didn't drive like a tool on purpose.

Mine was debadged at the factory and I definitely prefer it that way. As someone mentioned, its probably worth doing just because its a pain to clean around!
Most people who aren't BMW experts wouldn't know that.
Those who are BMW experts can probably tell what engine is in it from the shape of the wheelnuts or whatever, so wont be fooled even if he does badge it as a 316, 320d or similar.

Quite, but these people wouldn't give a **** what it is anyway making debadging pointless if they are the people you wish to appeal to.
Anyone with an interest high enough to develop a 'I wonder what engine that is' thought process will know what it is.

I'd have had the badges off my E92 right away had I opted for the noisy diesel

BMW badges are massive to begin with, I never liked them! I'd debadge regardless of model or brand, if it's on one side and isn't an ///M? or AMG or /R etc then it should be de badged all the time in my books.
You can tell a diesel car from the black tip ends of the exhaust pipes anyway and in many occasions the black bits surrounding the fuel filler cap because such owners don't tend to take care

But why??? mrk, you said you would debadge it regardless of make and model unless it is an M or AMG (which clearly shows you want to flaunt it if when it is good) Like what's wrong with this for example?

^^ There's nothing wrong with that^ Read my post again, I don't like things that look odd, BMW badges are always massive and to me that looks odd and out of place. I don't care if people can't see I drive a 330. Joe public don't know the difference between a 316 and a 330 if it slapped them in the face and those people who do know a 330 won't need a badge to tell them it's a 330 so this whole debate is rubbish in the first place!

Like I said, I like minimal look to pretty much everything, surely you've got the gist of that given the number of pics and posts I have put on this forum alone.
There's no winning with you though, your only response is always "you would say that though" so there's little point trying to argue a point with you because you won't accept it no matter what.

No shame in having a diesel and would want the same if it was petrol.
Boot looks much cleaner without the badge, which kind of unbalances it, being only on one side.

BMW badges are not that big, no bigger than a VW one, or a Vauxhall one or even my Toyota one.
