Decent detective games?

I hate you all :D

Bought L.A. Noire in the Steam sale because it was so highly rated in this thread, it does seem like a great idea but sadly the experience is ruined by the horrific controls, terrible graphics and worse physics. I hope the guys who ported this aren't the ones porting GTA5 lol. They have managed to combine the visuals of Max Payne 2 with the performance of Crysis XD

You can skip all the driving and just go straight to the crime scenes, that improves it a bit.

The vanishing of Ethan Carter?

Seriously this.
It's worth it just for the graphics alone, they are probably the best I've ever seen but it does help that the game it pretty good too though there certainly isn't any hand holding and you have to work pretty everything out for yourself.

What's that one where you play the Irish guy that has just come off the boat.
It's a good game I never played it but can't remember what it's called for the life of me.

Any time you have to go to a crime scene etc., just hop in the passenger seat. Your partner will do the driving. :)

Yeah I figured it out via Google, you hold E down for 2 seconds instead of pressing it. The game is approximately 10,000% better without the driving, I played it until 5am lol.

gabriel knight series, hes like a supernatural detective. they just remade the first 1, available on steam and gog. the other 2 are available on gog. great games. my personal favorite is the beast within, the 2nd one, done in live action fmv!
