Decent game controller?

Was this from uk whatgeek? I ordered mine on 9th Feb and it still hasn't even been dispatched yet.

Brother ordered his on the 11th, still not dispatched yet. He messaged them on Thursday and they said it's not past the normal processing time yet (2-7 business days I think), still hasn't dispatched yet. He is going to message them again tomorrow and see what the hold up is.

I wouldn't be shocked if they are out of stock and waiting for supplier, but just don't want to say so for some reason.

They offered me a £5 discount to not cancel the order and then changed it to £6 in another email. I wonder if it's because they realised I already saved £5.20 with a discount code and they meant £5 off the normal £39.99 price.

Word's got around on the interwebnetz, it's a fantastic controller for a fantastic price.

I ordered two on the 16th Feb and got the despatch email on the 20th - tracking says they left China yesterday, so certainly slower than my first two orders.

I suspect as others have said, there's been a lot of recent, positive reviews and interest, so it would make sense that they're in high demand.

I've also just ordered Gamesir's newest controller - the Supernova. It's currently only available to the UK direct from Gamesir: https://gamesir.com/products/gamesir-super-nova for £50, but I expect Whatgeek to pick it up soon (and hopefully cheaper - as they pay the Chinese RRP of $29).

Will compare it to the Cyclone and report back, once it lands

Probably, can't really beat £35 for it and the dock. He is no rush and for that price will just wait it out, but if it's out of stock/waiting for supplier is it really that hard to just say so? It still shows as being in stock on the website and ships within 24 hours, so is it that hard to tell people what the hold up is and when it can be expected to ship instead of making excuses.

Shame no trigger vibration, but expect they have to pay MS a licence fee for that.

Still nothing on brothers controller. Told me he messaged them today and it's been 11 business days since ordering (they said 2-7 is normal) and still nothing, despite the controller being in stock. Asked them when it's likely to ship, I''ll get him to tell me when they respond and see if we get a proper update or just some waffle.

Two new controllers appeared on AliX last night:
Gulikit KK2T (£48) with 1000hz polling, adjustable TMR sticks, 2 rear switches, HE Triggers & mechanical buttons, 6 Axis Gyro, Amiibo support & "Autopilot".

EasySMX D05 (£34) with HE sticks & Triggers, charging dock, 1000hz polling & 2 rear switches.

Will review when they land...

Someone on Reddit have a 8bitdo Ultimate 2 controller, it has an X-Box layout, instead of the Nintendo one that I had. TMR sticks with LED and switch for triggers to be a hairline trigger.

The Redditor commented that the plastic is nicer than the Cyclone 2.

I've currently loaned my Nintendo Switch along with the Ultimate to my sister so I have space for a new controller lol

It does look nice - 4 extra buttons (2 next to shoulder/triggers and 2 on the back), texture looks great and I like how simple the design is - no unnecessary flair/text/graphics to appear like it's trying too hard.

I'm flipping between the King Kong 3 Max and the Cyclone 2 - the Cyclone feels slightly faster/more responsive, but the KK3 definitely looks and feels the more premium product (at double the price, tbf).

I've set the KK3 rear paddles for Melèe attack, Ping, Health Item cycle and Grenade cycle on Cyberpunk 2077, which has made gameplay a bit smoother (less faffing with item wheels).

I think the Cyclone 2 has better Bluetooth range, but both 2.4Ghz dongles are faster and reach well across the lounge, so it's a non-issue.

I bought a USB-C extension dongle, so I can charge my Android tablet and keep a wired connection to the controller (which also stays charged), which has significantly reduced my latency when using Moonlight/PXPlay.

Had a trip to the the Emergency Dept with my daughter on Thursday (suspected concussion at Ballet, she's okay now), so we set ourselves up in the waiting area - she played Rocket League via Moonlight & her PC and I killed a few hours on Star Wars Rogue Trader via PXPlay on the PS5 (Windscribe VPN + Static IP helped bypass the hospital WiFi restrictions) - to the annoyance of some other parents...

I really ought to get myself an affiliate link.

Xbox layout isn't new, they've had that option for ages, rest is. Same shape as the old ones though, that's why I switched to the cyclone. 8bitdo was ok, but on games that are serious business where I tend to grip the controller a bit harder, it would hurt my wrists.
