Decent game controller?

That just means you're used to dual sense, plus one is symmetrical one is asymmetrical, so not exactly the same sort of comparison as the sticks are in completely different positions.
Not really, I spent a good amount of time with the Cyclone 2 so I was used to it, plus in the aimlabs benchmark I was only using the right stick.

2000Hz controllers are largely pointless, not yet used one that doesn't have noticeable stick filtering without even having to HFR capture. Always a compromise with them either material quality or filtering, and no means of customising buttons properly. Only GameSir excels in this area.

Cyclone 2 stand is metal of course but you have to align up the bottom of the arms first then it sits on the pins, otherwise it's like a USB-A port where you may get it in first time, may not, also no LED indicator light flashing during use as the dongle is hidden away inside

Who needs a dongle light when the whole controller is flashing a delightful unicorn rainbow right in your hands! :p

as an objective measurement I consistently get higher scores with the DualSense in aimlabs than the Cyclone 2 with a stick resolution of 1020 which is 8.4x higher
@mrk To add to this, I also remember testing the Cyclone 2 in aimlabs with the wireless dongle which has much higher stick latency compared to wired, and my scores were roughly 20% lower on average which goes to show how much stick latency affects accuracy/precision. That's one possible reason for the difference in precision you perceived rather than the stick resolution that you randomly attributed it to just because it was a higher number.

nd I wanted to reach out and thank you again for your previous coverage of our Crush controller on Neowin. Your support helped us gain valuable exposure in overseas markets and even build a small but passionate fanbase. We truly wouldn’t be where we are today without the early attention from outlets like yours.

I’m excited to share that we’ve recently collaborated with the Three-Body Problem IP to co-create a special edition controller inspired by the story’s first alien probe — the Droplet.
In the novel, Droplet is described as having a perfectly smooth, mirror-like surface and a teardrop shape — terrifyingly flawless, like a divine artifact. Our new controller captures this chilling elegance through a fully metallic electroplated silver finish, echoing the Droplet’s unsettling beauty.

This limited edition will only be available in China, but as a small token of our appreciation, we’d love to send you a unit as a gift.

While this exact version won’t be available internationally, we do have a very similar model called Ghost Silver, also featuring our signature metallic TMR build. You can check it out here:

Three Body Problem is among my fav scifi of all time so this was a welcome surprise.

Are there any out there already or soon to be released?

Back in 2020 when Warzone launched and then exploded, a bunch of us moved from playing COD on console to playing on PC and being able to overclock your PS4 controller to 1000hz (using hidusbf) felt like it made a noticeable difference. It didn't suddenly make the terrible COD players in our group any good, but making your controls feel more responsive was a big benefit to the better players.

The sort of difference that you could actually feel when you jumped in a warm up lobby, sticks felt snappier and more responsive. Especially with taking advantage of how aim assist worked in WZ, having a 1000hz overclocked controller made slight differences that did all add up.

I'm wondering how much of a difference 2000hz would make to a controller - although the type of games you're playing will factor here. Testing a controller in a tracking/snap heavy game like OW2 or The Finals or Apex is such a better way to get a feel for a controller from my experience.

I guess 2000 vs. 1000 in controllers will end being similar to polling rate in mice where there's an element of placebo once you reach a certain point. I have my wired OP1 8K (which I run at 4k) and my Vaxee XE-S (which I run at 2k) and whilst the OP1 feels slightly more 'responsive' the difference is so minor and it's not enough to take me from diamond ranked in Finals to a top 500 player.

Is the G7 Pro actually available for sale yet? Can’t seem to find it on Rainforest or AliX

I still like the crush controller but after Noxia's experience I had 2nd thought, but i still would like a metal feeling one that is compartible with multiple devices.
